Bit off topic. Is there a store near Chicago,
where I can purchase a Sparco balaclava (black)?

Looks like rain this weekend so ...

Philip, do you mean Gingerman is more
forgiving than Blackhawk or Road America?

Noel
Alfa is 2-day (S, S). Lapping and time trial at Road America. Cost is about $350 including a dinner plus an Alfa club membership fee of about $30 if you are not a member. They are a very fun group of people. Usually well attended by all kinds of machinery (Lotus, Vette's etc) and well run.

I don't think they'll let you run a convertible w/o a rollbar. If you need to contact the organizer to confirm, contact me offline and I'll pass on Pam Zalinger's email address.

Badger's Bimmer is the following F, S, S, also at Road America. I don't recall the weekend cost (the Friday is $225 plus a small membership fee). Longer sessions (40 minute I think), different (= more "normal") format. No idea on the rollbar/convertible stuff but assume the same. Again, if you want to contact the organizer, Darcy Yench, drop me an email and I'll pass on the address.

g Dan,
I believe Continental subsidizes the event. Doesn't sound like LFSC does. There are other organizers (for example, CGI) holding events at Gingerman that are much more reasonably priced and it is a more forgiving track (IMO).

HTH and hope to see some of you using the cars as Enzo intended.

Dunno about this particular one, but looked at the one they had earlier. It was a one day event for about 200 bucks.

Good to hear from you again Noel!

Dan
I am doing the Alfa event and the first day of the Badger BMW event at RA the following week. Alfa event is great fun, good group of people.

I have not run Badger Bimmer before, but it is supposed to provide a lot of track time.

Hope to see you there

Will anyone attend the Alfa event at Road America on Sept 27/28th?

Lake Forest event at Blackhawk on Oct 8th?
Glanced at the entry form for LFSC - $395.
Nearly twice as much as the Continental event,
no sport/touring groups (ie. must wear a helmet at all times), extra for each addtl person and likely a complimentary lunch consisting of McDonalds finest. Laughing matter.
