Tod, I'll do that once the design has stabilized. Now with a new printer/publisher I have to go back to square 1 or rather 1.5 or something.

Andreas,

Can you start a new thread with the pictures for each month that you are sending to the printers so we can all get a preview of it???

Thanks....

Andreas - Put me down for two copies. Oh, and please note the spelling of my first name. (My folks named me like a girl - one R and one L )

Thanks, Daryl

You can COUNT on me for at least 4-5 copies. But,I may want a few more. If you need an exact amount,I'll figure out who else I will be sending one for Christamas, and let you know. Just let me know when you need to know. Maybe, also could make a post on FChat, and the FCA newsletter. But,I am sure that the December newsletter is done, already. But,may be not too late for January! Alot of people still buying calenders in January.

COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME A ROUGH ESTIMATE ON HOW MANY COPIES YOU INTEND TO BUY?

Lets assume the price will be $ 15 a piece.

The calendar is complete.

I just ordered the first sets for myself to make sure everything looks good. If it does (and most likely it will), I'll post the order details here. Again I won't be making any profit off this and each calendar will cost $ 15.

Thanks to all who participated and especially to those who submitted pictures.

If it's not wet out,Saturday A.M.,I might just drive down by the Planetarium to get the City Backgrond shots that I wanted. If I can't then,I'll just have to try another day.

Andreas.I am all for sharing a month. There are too many of us guys to leave anyone one out. Also, have no problem with putting my name under my car. I've settled my IRS debt:-)(kidding!) and my ex-wife already knows about the Ferrari,AND that there's NOTHING that she can do about it! :-) :-) Lastly,Don,my car isn't any nicer than yours...they are ALL Ferrari's...and that alone makes them ALL VERY Special! :-) Looking forward to our drive this Sunday so that Andreas can get all of the Pix that he needs, and to see all of you guys and your great cars! now,the weather folks are saying,Cold,(which is fine with me) and, NO rain until later thet day or night. So,it looks like everything is a go! So,all we need is to figure out where to meet. I'll post a new thread for that.

Thanks Don for being understanding and reasonable. You sure you're a lawyer?
:-)

For the FCA/FChat buffs amongst you: We could setup a little contest of who IDs the most Ferraris including their owners. Because aside from the ones listed in this thread, there are several other cars in the background of some of the shots (like in Don's from the Oakbrook event).

Well, Skip you can tell that to Dave Bendl. He now has to share a month with Don and Frank.

But seriously, it actually works best this way as sharing a month only works when you have a shot that can be cut and Skip's is least 'clippable'.

BTW: This thread has meanwhile surpassed Bob Campen's May 10 drive in number of postings. Yahoo! Leading in the Chicago forum...

Good question Tod:

Unfortunately we cannot alter the calendar itself (would be neat to put in dates for drives etc). So if we want text, I would have to add it into the picture. Which I can do. So:

IF YOU WANT YOUR NAME OR TYPE OF CAR IN THE PICTURE, PLEASE TELL ME SO, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE THE PICTURE ONLY.

Andreas, I will get you a high res. pict., It is on my computer at home. Also, the picture below i cropped it too, i will give you the entire picture and then you can crop it to fit the calender as needed.

Will there be place for text on each month??? Such as, a few words telling about the car(s) on that month??? Just wondering....

Just to recap, here is where we're at currently:

Title: 333 SP (Doc Anderson sp?)
January: GT/4 (George Dan)
February: 328 (Jack Stanley)
March: Daytona (Mark Lindman)
April: 308 (Skip Williamson)
May: 365 (Bill Rosen)
June: 328 (Tod Whitmore)
July: 308 (Sean McKee) and 360
August: 355 (Mike Epifanio)
September: 308 (Bob Campen), 308 (Andreas), 348 (Dan Patel)
October: 308 (Dave Bendl), 308 (Don Norton), 308 (Frank Wiedman)
November: 246 (Darryll)
December: Superamerica (Chris)

I'm trying hard to accomodate everybody with the preferred months, show as many different types as possible and keeping it interestingly from an eye candy perspective. Not easy, I have to say. So please forgive me if it isn't exactly what you wished for...

As I said before: Cars who don't get a full month this time will get one for 2005. That includes me, hehe.

Skip, Don, would you guys be willing to share a month (October)? That would free up Mrs February for the Daytona.

Frank,
I was at Dupage this last saturday from about 10am til about 2pm at a meeting on the west side of the field. Had the F-Car there and almost caught the Lima-Lima guys, unfortunately they had already started thier engines and were taxiing out, that would have been a great shot with those two yellow Lima-Lima stunt planes and my 328... Oh Well, still waiting for the F-16 shot.... If you were there around that time, i'm surprised we didn't cross paths....

I'm hoping to start flying again, it's been since last june since i got up, my one airline friend and i may go up thursday, we have to move a plane from Lockport to Dupage, i know it's only a 10 min. flight, but we'll make it an hour or more flight.... :-) Lets hope the weather is nice, i'm itching to get back up again....

Frank, you should take flying lessons, i hear they have lesser ratings available now, like a recreation pilot licsence, less time and money to get your licsence, but there are more restrictions of course, but then, if you like flying, can upgrade to a private pilot certificate then....

My next goal is to buy a plane.... hmmmm????? But, buying a new Ferrari might be better.... :-)

Tod. My son and I were out driving in the Ferrari this past weekend. And,we stopped by the DuPage Airport to watch the small planes take off and land. I told him that you knew how to fly these planes. I also told him that I have been up in small planes a few times, and that it was alot different then when he flew with us in Commercial aircraft a few times. I told him that it felt like being in a car, but,up in the sky. Kind of a strange feeling. Especially, when you "dive" the plane a little. You get the "tickle" in your tummy, like on a roller coaster, except more intense. He thought that that sounded cool, and wants me to take flying lessons. I told him that I always wanted to,but, was a little fearful...plus...his stepmom forbids it. (but doesn't forbid a second Ferrari. So,I guess I can live with that) Then,we stopped by FoxValley Motorcars to see what they had. A really nice looking White Lambo Countach...don't worry,I'm not going to stray from Ferrari! And,they still have that ugly yellow 328 with the red/black seats. They need to paint that car red or black or gray,or something.(not Blue!) Also had some other nice cars...And Ferrari's. After I had already left,I realized that I saw in the November issue of DuPont registry that they have a Lambo Gallardo on premises. I really would like to see that car in person. In all the magazine articles that I've read about it. It sounds like a really nice car. AND...it doesn't look like a small boat or jet-ski,(wave runner maybe?) like the 360.

Plus i'll see what i can muster up for a collage type picture too.....

Lighting isn't ideal, but I love the angle. If you want to make a collage, that's fine too. Yours would be the only one and I like variety.

Not too hot on the side view of the 328 as it looks just like yet another 308. IMHO 328 are best from the front or from the inside.

Really??? You like the last one, i was concerned that the lighting wasn't the best on that one. The front of the car is on the dark side compared to the side of it. Next time i take photo's of my car, i will bring my computer so i can download the pictures right away and check them on a big screen.... I was thinking of takeing a few of my shots and making a collage of pictures into one picture....

Tod, pls send me the last one (low angle, right front corner) as a high res email. That one is awesome, almost looks like a BBi.

I wish I had had more time in Huntsville, they got some F-14 and F-16 sitting around. Would have made for some great backdrops. There is something about Ferraris and fighter jets.

Frank, I'd like to wrap this up this month, so you have some more time. If we can get together over the weekend I can shoot the pic(s) I need myself. No problem.

It'd be really cool if Dave could join us to make the two car shot.

Eventually we'll need some 'advertisment' also within FCA to spread the word about the calendars. Not that it makes any financial difference, but it'd be cool if more people like our pics. Me thinks.

O.K. When is the deadline? I have a CD with some digital pix from the Hooters Downers Grove show, and in my driveway. And,have the photos of same. But,I am DEFINITELY (weather permitting, ofcourse) going downtown this weekend to take some more digital pix with the Fountain,Lake, and Skyline. So,if you can give me just another week and a half,I'll get some better pix. If not, then, the picture that you have is O.K. with me. THANKS!!!

Also,Andreas,I almost forgot. I have a CD with pictures of my car,and others, from the Downers Grove Hooters show from a couple weeks back. But,am "technologically challenged" and don't yet know how to get it from CD to computer screen.Got a cute one of my boy standing amongst a few life size(his size, anyway) Pink Panther stuffed toys that were standing around a Panther Pink '74 Plymouth 'CUDA. Pretty funny,as he is the same size as the stuffed toys. And a few of my own car.

Thanks,Andreas,I will. Still would like to do a downtown,Route 66 drive. But,it sounds like a few would like to attend the Hooters show this Sunday. And,I got a last minute "parental attendence required" event this Sunday morning. How about next weekend for the drive? For sure. Also, are you going out to the Hooters Schaumburg show this weekend? If so,let me know and I can bring some other pix out to you in the early afternoon. And,if there's still time for the calender, would like to use a picture from downtown, with the skyline in the background. But,I don't want to hold up anything. So,if not,let me know, too. Thanks! Last but not least, you can just use the picture that you already have of my car.I am considering driving through the Morton Arboretum this weekend (early-before it gets busy) And taking some Fall color pix out there.

Yes,Andreas.I have some more pix to make a choice from for my car. If the weather is nice this weekend-it's supposed to be,I can't do anything Sunday morning, due to a family commitment. But,if you are going out to the Hooter's Schaumburg show,I'll drive out there in the afternoon and give them to you. But,if there's still time. Next weekend I wanted to take some pictures down by the Lakefront, and some other spots, also with a digital camera.I also have a nice rear shot showing my license plate,"N LUVN IT",if you wanted a different angle. But,if you already have a layout, just use the picture that you have. That's fine with me. I don't want to hold up production. So,if there's still some time...a week or two,let me know. If not, then you can either use the picture that you have,or I'll give you another one Sunday at Hooter's Schaumburg.(I'm not going to enter that show. I won't get out that way until 1:00PM-ish)Thanks!

Not everyone may like everyone else's photo, hence it may not be such a good idea, although I suppose one isn't forced to read that particular thread.

Sean, I did get your pics, you can clear your outbox (I can't yet clear my inbox, your file hanging in there heavily).

Frank, taking pictures of Chinese food will become vital NEXT year already for the Shanghai GP. Actually I have been to China already, about 25 years ago.

Andrew, congrats, you win a T-Shirt from Huntsville (where Marshall Space flight center is located): They have a real Saturn V there lying on its side and a mockup S-V standing up. That one is the background to a 308. Not mine, but fellow FChatter Mike Charness'. If he only were from the Midwest, we could put him into our calendar...

PS: I feel blessed to (coincidentally) be at a rocket centered place while another nation joins the small club of Space explorers. It was quite a big deal here and we celebrate(d) accordingly.

Sean, pulling off that one would mean really neato credentials as the Saturn V at KSC is indoors...

I do know the curator of that place personally, but not even he would allow such a stunt.

The question remains...

Sean, my apologies, but I'm currently busy with my other hobby. However I did manage to combine the two and got a nice shot of a 308 QV in front of a Saturn V. Yes, you read right.

Dan, glad to have you onboard as well. Actually I think I'll use the shot from Racewoods for September: Bob and my 308 and your 348. Great picture and covers all three of us in one take.

Skip also has a TR? Holy cow, didn't know that. What's the license plate, color etc, what events was is it in? Maybe I already got a pic.

Anyway, yes, definitely would prefer a pic of his TR then.

Hey Skip,

Why not use of picture of your TR or 512TR for the calendar instead of the 308? We don't have any of those in here and I'd love to see it, since thats my next Fcar...

Andreas,I took some good pix of my car last Sunday, with one of those digital disposable Kodak camera's.I'll have the pictures back, tomorrow, and can give to you next Sunday,if thats O.K. But,was also going to take some pix when we take our drive on the 19th. And,if we all go,would also be a great time to take any "double car" pictures, too. And,I am certainly up for the drive, next Sunday the 19th,if anyone else is. I posted a rough draft of a potential "itinerary" under the "Route 66" post. And,depending on what time that we start out,we could still make it in time to enter the Hooters Show in Schaumburg,as long as it doesn't fill up too fast. But,when I went to the Downers Grove Hooters show last week, they did make some more room,WAYYYY in the back for a few more cars, and allowed people to enter the contest all the way up until 1:00PM,even though all of the spots were gone by 10:00AM. So go figure! I have never been to the Hooters in Schaumburg, but,if it's anywhere near the Woodfield,or other shopping center lots, then there should be alot of parking-more than what was at Downers Grove. But,there seem to be alot more of those supertuner ricerocket cars out that way,so,I think that, with only 1 simple category of,"Import",it would be some stiff competition...No,not really competition,in our eyes, but to the automobile ,teenage-twenty something public,it is. Get this. Theres a house at the end of my block, that a bunch of young Asian guys are renting. They ALL have these tweaked out supertuner cars, and thier friends do. Sometimes there's anywhere from 5 to 10 of them parked over there. And,when I drive by in my Ferrari, they all stop what they are doing, drop jaw,and go,"WOW! A Ferrari!'. I don't get it!

Oopsie, sorry Tod. Absolutely you can have June. My mistake. On my plan at home I got it right, I posted this from (leaking) memory. No, June is yours.

The folks who share a month get the priviledge to have their own month in the next calendar guaranteed. How's that?

Actually I got a good picture of Bob's car at Meadowdale racewoods (the meeting he organized early this year) and a nice portrait of mine at the Bahai, so that'll look sharp.

Also I got a nice portrait of Dave's 308 at Bob's house (with Tod's and my car in it in the background). I'm only missing a good portrait from Frank, but I'm sure he can come up with that. Route 66 and the high raises on either side at Jackson/Michigan would do nicely.

Which leads us to October 19th: Actually I'm still thinking about the Hooters event. Especially if the weather is bad I think I'll go there as it would improve my chances (what a sad statement to make). Let's see how many folks we could get otherwise together if the weather is fine.

Andreas,
Maybe the guys that are sharing a month, maybe they could get together and get a nice picture with both of their cars together then??? Kind of like what Sean did with his 308 and the 360 ??? Just a thought..

Also, i can't have June???? :-( It doesn't matter, May is fine.... I was figuring June because that is my birthday month and the month i bought my 328.... :-) What ever, i'm not picky...

I'm still working on getting a nice picture too...

Are we still planning a cruise for the 19th??? I hope it's going to be nice like this weekend is suppose to be....

Here is my current plan for who goes where:

Title: 333 SP
January: GT/4, George
February: 308, Skip
March: 246, Darryll
April: 2 x 308, Frank and Dave
May: 328, Tod
June: 365, Bill
July: 360 and 308, Sean
August: 355, Mike
September: 2 x 308, Bob and Andreas
October: 308, Dan
November: 328, Jack
December: Superamerica, Chris

I tried to alternate with 308s and non 308s to break it up a bit. Also some of you made requests for particular months.

Frank, Dave, Bob and I will have half pictures. Could be either two portraits or two cropped landscapes.

Comments?

Sean it is 11.5" x 9".

BTW: I think I have seen the Red Baron airplane fly over my house. Just within the last few days. Pretty cool, would have made for a stunning backdrop.

At this moment I have all the months squared away. This will be very cool, trust me!

Andreas, what are the dimensions of each page in the calendar, I would like to crop the pix a bit to make them more wide than square if that aspect ratio lends itself to the format of the calendar, so let me know, because I don't want the printing company to have to stretch the pix height wise.

Tod, we just decided at the last minute to go take some pix (since both cars are at the office every day) and the airport was down the street from the office. A red baron type of plane came down and we could get pix with that plane, but there was a phone call that had to be made, and we had to go back to the office. All very last minute.

Tod,you are a pilot? Very cool! Back when I was about 12-13,my best friend,at that time, and I wanted to build our own glider. We wanted to study for learning how to get a pilots license, for small aircraft, when we turned 16. And,wanted to get a gliders license when we were 14. But,unfortunately,I never followed through with those plans. We used to park by DuPage airport, and O'Hare, and watch planes take off and land. Also, our Boy Scout leader's boss had a little Cessna, that he kept at the Schaumburg airport, and he'd always take us up for plane rides. Kind of felt like being in a car up in the sky. I've expressed interest to take flying lessons,to my wife, and she said," NO.WAY!!!" So,maybe,someday...

Sean, the address is correct, but my mailbox is limited to 6MB. So how about if you send me only the one picture with both cars and the plane (top one). That's the money shot (your 308 by itself is beautiful too, but we're running out of space/months).

It probably won't make the cover, I'd like to use the 333 SP for that. And who could argue with the ultimate coolness of that car? Only Rubens and Schuey I suppose...

Also you need to introduce me to your 360 friend. I never drove a 360 and would do just about anything to get that chance (he can sit next to me, don't care).

Tod, you got the right attitude man (so do some others on here too btw). Get that F-16 shot for next year. PLEASE! And if it doesn't pan out, put yours next to Sean's and the 360 next year with a sunset covering the cars.

Anyway, I'm psyched to get these great pics, thanks!

Sean, Those are awesome pictures, I know that airport, that is where i learned to fly about 15 yrs ago... It's changed since then. Should have told me you were taking these pictures, i could have come by with my black 328 and get my cousing to bring his black 456 too .. :-) Which i found out the other day, he has it down in Scottsdales now....

I am hopeing next year to try and get my 328 next to an airforce F-16 or F-15, i spend about a week at an AFB in WI each year, i am going to try and take the F-car next year and talk to the commander at Ops to get my car on the ramp next to a fighter for a picture....

Andreas,

I'm emailing you the hires pix as we speak. 11MB, so hope you're on a fast connection! Personally, I think the pic of the 308/360/airplane might make a cool cover, with plenty of room on the top of the picture in the sky for titles, etc. This is purely an unbiased opinion of course :o)

Here's the pix to choose from, but low res, I'll email you the high res. Now that I think about it, I should've got one of mine alone in front of the plane. But the two of them together is neat, old school attitude with current refinement.

Andreas. I took some pix of my car on Sunday at Hooters, and in my driveway. My car looks MUCH better in the shade-can't see all those swirls and spiderwebs from my excessive fondling,er,polishing. I used one of them there new fangled digital disposable type cameras(HeeHeeHee)So,I'll see how they come out. But,if you can hold off until after our drive on the 19th,will have more from then. I'll have my photo guy at Walgreens,Mr. Gene Jenkins, who is an amateur,no,actually,I would probably call him more of a semi-pro photographer, take care of them for me. And he'll get them developed for me right away. But,I know that you may be on a time frame,so,let me know.

Frank, I found two good pictures of your car from our Batavia drive. However if you want to shoot your own, do me a favor and get some portraits as well (vertical vs horizontal).

Sean, your car is the only one I don't have a picture of.

As far as good backgrounds are concerned: How about the new Bears stadium or going with the flow and put the car in front of Wrigley Field? If you want to do either, let me know, I'll be happy to assist.

Thanks all for the enthusiasm. Just for the record: This is the second year I'm doing this. Last year somebody else (not a F person) put one together, but we had very few participants, so each car was in there multiple times. Kinda hokey. This is so much better. On a sad note: It was through last year's calendar that I got introduced to Amar, whom we lost this year. The picture of his 360 in that calendar stands as a grim reminder of the darker side of our passion.

Andreas. I am planning on taking some digital pix this weekend. And,will be good for quite a few copies of the calender when it's ready. Great idea! Thanks! I once had a thought to try to make up a "calender",(single copy for myself) with pictures that I've collected through the years,of cars that I've owned. And,if I don't have a picture,I look for a similar car,color,etc...at the various car shows throughout the summmer. But,since I've been having back problems, haven't been getting out to the car shows like I used to.But,maybe someday,I will finish my quest!

I have a pretty good picture from the Oak St. show, showing the Marquee at the theatre, advertising the movie,"The Italian Job",in the background. I noticed that they used a similar photo on my last months FCA newsletter. My pix have Ferrari's in the foreground, and the Marquee visible, and clear in the background. But,don't know if you need permission,or anything,to use it. I wouldn't think so,if the photo was taken on a public street,at a carshow. But if you want to use it for anything,I'll be glad to give you a copy.

Basically I have the layout together, but I need a few more questions answered:

TOD: Is the 456 coming or not?

SEAN: Is the 360 in or not?

ALL: *IF* your license plate is visible, do you want me to airbrush it out for privacy?

I got all 12 months covered at this moment, but if more cars are to show up, we could squeeze the 308 guys a bit more. Otherwise we're set.

Any preference on the title page? Here are my suggestions:

Either an event shot like the overhead one from Oakstreet with many cars or the Doc's 333SP (while it was alive...). Any preference?

Hi Andreas,
Chris LaPorte's car was at the Oak St. and the Oakbrook events this year. It is a black two seater, two headlamps. At Oakbrook, it was second from the right end (next to the white 365GTC) in the row that was facing the F1 car. I am sure that you have pics of it, for ID purposes you can go to www.geocities.com/motorcity/8809, but I'm sure that your pics would be of better quality.

Just a quick update:

I'm all set with cafepress and ready to put the calendar together. I will sell it on-line at no extra cost. Price will be $ 14.99 a piece. You'll be able to order as many as you like on line.

As announced we will have 12 pictures for the months and one cover picture. So unless you want me to provide the picture, please send me your own shot to my email [email protected] in the best possible resolution you have.

Also please tell me if your car should be shown in a particular month. I have control over what goes where so I will try to accomodate you.

We don't really have a deadline, but I'd like to get this done this month.

Would make a nice alternative to Christmas cards for some family and friends. The only picture that you would already have of my car, would be from our Saturday drive a few weeks ago.My car was second to last, next to the white GTO.In front of the Larson building. But,if not this year, maybe next year...(NOT like our Cubbies!...looking pretty good for them,so far. But,it's early yet!)

The format of the calendar is pretty much given, we can only submit the pictures. That's to keep costs down etc.

I went through my collection of Chicagoland cars and realized I had tons of shots in portrait format, so that shouldn't be a problem. Also I realized, that we could put two cropped landscapes above each other. E.g. my helicopter shot has lots of room above and below to chop off (pun intended).

So I'd like to repeat the offer:

ANYBODY STILL INTERESTED, KEEP 'EM COMING!!!

Or if you don't have a picture, just drop me a note, chances are I have your car already somewhere.

Skip, any word from Bill or Chris?

Tod, was the 456 at Lake Forest?

PS: Since we probably want to do this next year as well, we'll rotate the people who won't get a full page this time. Equal rights in the long run to all involved.:-)

I'll get you pix in the next few days. By the way, if it does work out that you're compositing multiple cars in one shot, or are looking for another, one of my clients who I share our film post production studio with, has a 2000 Black 360 Modena. He'd probably be interested. I see him every day so if there is a space I can ask. The car is here everyday (yes, he actually drives it daily) so I could get some pix of it. Funny, I have a black car myself, but for some reason I think the lines/curves on the 360 only really kick-butt in silver, red or yellow. But its still a nice car, I can't knock it for the color!

I was just thinking about how we could squeeze more than 12 cars in and there is an ok compromise with the composite shots: Use two portraits for one month (instead of 1 landscape).

I have some good portraits of some of the cars, so we could go that route and I would actually volunteer my 308 for one of these shots.

Bottom line is:

EVERYBODY STILL INTERESTED, LET ME KNOW PLEASE!

I bet we can accomodate a few more.

456 defintily qualifies, has not only 12 cylinders, but has them in front too!

Ask him, whether this car was at the Lake Forest event last October. If so, I probably have some shots of it.

"8 cylinders only calendar. "

and 6 due to the 246?

A 12 for the 12th month would be nice.

Dave Bendl's 308 is in.

No, the format is given by the online shop that does the printing/ordering/selling. It is one picture per month. The only way around it would be a composite shot.

So in order to give more folks a chance, I think we should bundle a few cars. Put a couple or more 308s onto one page. I can do that technically with photoshop, no problem.

However you 308 guys must let me know, whether you would feel offended by that or not. If you are, then Dave's entry was the last one to make it. Your call.

Skip, I would love Bill's 365. After all I got tons of pictures of it. However Bill never responded on here committing to the calendar. So currently he is not in.

Same goes for the Superamerica. Which basically means, that unless we get some commitment for the last slot, this will be an 8 cylinders only calendar.

I guess you have Bill Rosen's 365GT 2+2.

How about Chris LaPorte's 410 Superamerica?

Tod, I don't have an official cut off date. Once we have all 12 cars/owners, that's the end of it. I can 'grant' you a couple of extra weeks, no problem. However I do have a nice picture from our Batavia drive: You fueling up at the gas station with Bill's 12 cylinder behind you and the GTO next to you.

Sean, you're in. Get me some pictures please.

George, I checked the shots and it is very obvious, that we need to use the one where you're driving the hell out of your GT/4. So much dynamic in that shot. It has to be that one. I'll call you tonight.

Mike Epifanio, I'll probably switch shots on you: Since we now have another 246, I'll rather use a shot of your 355, for variety.

ONLY ONE SLOT LEFT!

Would be great if the last car in would not be a 308: That way we can have 308 on every other month and non 308s in between. Do I start to sound like a snob? I hope not.

Andreas,

What is the cut off date to get you photos??? I am hoping in a couple weeks, the leaves will change and i can get some real nice colorful shots of my 328 in the forest preserve... Hopefully the water pump will be fixed by then.. HAH!

Can we pick what month??? I think a nice black 328 would go good for the month of June... ;) My birthday month.... :-) Also when i bought her too... :-)

I think we also need to add milestones throughout the calander too, Ferrari events, owners b-days, etc...etc... Just a thought.....

Ah, George, yes I remember. You broke my heart with your polite decline. Still haven't had a chance to drive a GT4, still looking forward to that day...

Yes, I do have some good shots of your car. One static and at least one racing. I can forward them to you for your decision what to pick.

Sorry, Ferraris only.

Andreas,

You have some photos of my car. We met at Blackhawk. I (politely :-) declined your request to drive it.

I have some photos as well but uncertain about the resolution.

Perhaps you can send me the photos you have?

Ferrari's only? May have a Merak and/or Exig
available.

Dan, fantastic and welcome to the board!

Do you have a picture of your car? Did you attend any of the FCA meets this year, maybe I have a pic already? Anxious to see your car anyway, I love GT4s.

Also talked to Mike Epifanio who is happy to put his 246 into the calendar. Great, we're starting to get some variety. I got a good shot of it from the Oakstreet event, in front of the Esquire.

ONLY THREE OPEN SLOTS LEFT! HURRY IF YOU WANT TO BE IN IT!

In the unlikely event we don't get 12 shots together I got plenty of material from our F1 heroes as well as from Maranello this year.

Thanks for that Don. Unless we come up with a better one.

This calendar seems to reflect the general perception I have of FCA etc: It is the 308 boys who actually drive their cars...

C'mon non 308 owners, how about you?

5x308 and 2x328. We need some variety in here.

Tod, actually up on the lift is not a bad idea. It is very different and I would like that. I actually have some nice shots of Ferraris on lifts etc while being maintained. Nothing wrong with that, but of course it is your car, so you pick your own best shot.

Alternatively I got a nice one from our Batavia drive while you were fueling up.

I can get a picture of mine up on the hoist at Fox Valley .... LOL! Just kidding, that would be our Ferrari Nightmare calender....

I have been waiting for a nice day and a fall day with the leaves in color to get some nice photos of my car... Maybe we can plan on another cruise in a couple weeks when the leaves change and hit some scenic spots for some photo shoots ???

I'll be game for the calender too....

Thanks guys for all the responses. That's a good start.

Bob, unless you have your own picture I got your beauty covered. Multiple times, no problem.

Skip, found your car from the Batavia drive, great shot (if I may say so myself).

Jack, got some of your 328 back when we met the first time, but my car is in the picture as well. So either you have a better one, accept this or we meet again. Buying a GTO conversion? Great idea! But wait, we have already two GTOs on line (although not on FChat yet).

Skip: Can you start an email with our folks from the Batavia/Geneva drive? If we get e.g. Michelle or Kim in this deal, we'd have GTOs covered.
:-)

Frank, a disposable works just fine. Especially if the photo shop makes you the digital copy (CD). That is good enough as a resolution. I like your idea of the multiple cars at Larson's, but don't really have a good shot of that. I got many good shots from other big events like Oakstreet etc.

Anyway, we need more people and their cars in here:

- Noel with his ultra cool 360 (got him at Oakstreet).
- Jay with his elegant Mondial (got him at Bahai)
- Byron with is 348 (got him at Racewoods).
- Bill and his 365 (got him at every event).
- Tod with is 328 (got him at Batavia)
- Rick with his GT4 (got him at Monroe Street)
- Mike with his 355 or 246 (got both covered)

And all the other guys with 308s: Don, Philip, Mike Fisher, Dave.

Does anybody have a direct link to Dr. Henderson? Would love to put his 333SP into this calendar.

If nothing else I got also some decent shots of all the current Ferrari F1 drivers and their cars. But to use those pics I'd probably first need an OK from FNA. Not sure.

Well,if there's any more room for another Red 308,you can count me in,too. Then I'd buy several to send to friends and family for Christmas, instead of cards. Or,you can take a picture of my car with Junior standing by it with a caption, Mmmm...Only 12 more years until I'm 18! :-) Our "good camera" is broken right now. But,would one of those new disposable digital cameras work? The ones that have a CD come with the developed pictures? A nice shot at Montrose Harbor, with the Chcago Skyline in the background, perhaps? Was planning on taking some pictures like that soon.(one of my younger brothers who lives out in Phoenix,Az.,wants me to take some pix of the Chicago skyline-I believe he's a little homesick-and if my 308 happens to be in some of them,it's a bonus for him! Hee Hee Hee!) Or,Fall colors at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle? Lots of potential. A picture of all of our cars in front of that old "Larson Building" by the pizza place we stopped and ate at,when we drove out to Aurora/Batavia, could make a nice cover? If you end up with alot of 308's,maybe you can split them up a little, throughout the calender,by using different background scenes. Still possible to get some "summer" looking pix,Fall, and winters coming up soon!Just my .02cents.

I'll do it. I know you can make calendars on Ofoto. We did one of our dog last year and it turned out pretty nice. I'll be happy to buy a GTO conversion to avoid too many 3x8s. I'll even take a picture without my dog if you want.

All,

I'd like to put together a 2004 calendar with 12 pictures of Ferraris from around Chicagoland. We did a similar thing last year for the 2003 calendar, but on a FChat wide scale. But I think Chicagoland has now enough FChatters on line that we can make our own local calendar.

Printing, distribution etc. can all be handled by one of the online companies (forgot the name, but have it somewhere, it's that cafe thingy). Cost per calendar will be about ten bucks. You can order as many or little calendar(s) as you like.

Technically they need hi res pictures in landscape format (so at least 1,000 pixels res).

Over this year I have taken many pictures from all of your cars, so I could easily come up with the 12 pictures, however if you guys have your own favourite shots, that's fine too.

So, who's in? Obviously it makes only sense to post a pic of your car if you're willing to buy at least one calendar.

It'd be cool if we get a few folks with non 308 cars, just to have some variety.

So for starters, just let us know here who's in and we'll take it from there (picturewise etc).
