Speaking of wings,Andreas. I saw a '90's style Lincoln Towncar...the "squared off" ones, prior to the current version, that had a wing on the back of it. You may have started a trend. It was in Oakbrook and was pulled over by Oakbrook's finest, the other night. |

O.K. I'm going to share this story with you guys, and, make sure that you don't have any food or drink in your mouth when you read it. I don't want to be responsible for anyone choking ,or anything, because I like you guys too much. Anyway. When I was 16. My first car was a 1966 Pontiac GTO(closest thing to anything Ferrari that I was gonna get at that age) Anyway,it had this BIG,HEAVY steel hood, that wouldn't stay up. So,I either had to hold it, or use a broomstick or something,if I was at my house. Anyway, one night, while just cruisin' around all night with my buddies, doing what 16 year old boys did back then,(wink wink),and I noticed some light coming from under the hood. So,I pulled over, but, left the car running. I opened the hood, and saw that the coil wire was broken, and the spark was shooting from the broken end of the wire, into the distributor cap. So,with my right hand holding up the hood...took my left hand and grabbed the coil wire to shove it back into the hole on the distributor cap.BZZZZZZZZZZZT!!!!! I got such a jolt that it threw me back about 10 feet! Not too bright! But,my senses were a litle dull at the time. And,yes,I DID learn a very valuable lesson about electricity that evening! |

Actually my satanic mechanic found some for me strong enough to raise the lid with the wing. |

I was also considering, just take one of the struts in to the local auto parts store and match it up with a generic one??? Any thoughts on that?? Andreas, just add a third one, or i have my 2x4 one that will hold it up...

Here's a real challenge: Try finding decklid struts strong enough to support a wing.
Finding those was not easy. Believe me. |

Skip, The price at Continental has gone up a bit, they are $62 each now. So, i'll see what Philip has to offer... I was thinking about taking that 2x4 i use now to prop the hood open, paint it black and add the Ferrari logo on it... Think i could sell those on ebay for about $30 each ????

Tod- I bought mine from Continental a few years ago. They even have Ferrari screen printed on them. Give Randy a call; they were cheap enough, I think $70 or $80 bucks for the pair. |

Hey Frank, Thanks for the info, i have a bid on a pair in Ebay right now and it looks like the same guy. It looks like he wants $75 for the pair. On Ebay, his reserve hasn't been met, so we'll see if he would settle for less... Philip, Thanks, I'll give you a shout off line.. |

Tod. When I saw you on Sunday at Hooters, you showed us that you needed some new rear deck lid struts for your 328. I don't know if these are the same as for a 308,but would imagine so. I found an ad in this months FCA newsletter, from a guy who is selling SF shields, and has some,"inexpensive replacement rear deck struts for 308". I have no idea how much, how good,or if they'll work on your car, but, here is his site and E-mail; www.cimbridge-software.com/ferrari.htm his E-mail is; [email protected] John Borchelt 650-520-4822 |
