Ahhh.... great pictures, guys! It's like 308 and 328 fest! And "The Room" !! Good to see that the weather is still so nice out for some local drives! (Unlike smokey southern california) Jack, Andreas - when are you coming to LA? Make it happen! We're planning for some really big events early part of 2004... I'll keep you guys posted! |

Thanks! I also know a guy out in Phoenix that has fiberglas replacement door skins for those Rusted out bottom 308/328 doors. He can probably do something like that. I would bet that he could make some money from it,too. As,I have seen alot of posts from 308/328 owners looking for "see- through" acrylic roof panels for their cars. |

Frank, in case you run into trouble with the roof project: Check out Mike Charness from the AL section. He has shops down there that do great custom work. He is currently working on a carbon fibre door sills project. He is the one who came up with the cut out louvres on GTS. That's where I got mine from. |

Also, agree with your painted roof. Personally,I like both looks. I love the clean, uninterupted, flowing lines of a GTB. Also,on the 246Dino. But,also LOVE an open top car. I am going to try to find a nice,pre-owned roof panel,to have painted. So that I have both. I am also going to look into trying to make,or,have made,an Acrylic Roof panel, like whats on my Corvette. I like those, too. I don't think that it would be too difficult to make one. Just, take an existing roof panel. Remove the vinyl top,and replace it with a piece of dark,or,smoked acrylic. Can't be TOO hard. And,if it is. I'll bet that someone who works at one of those "custom interior shops",like "Riggs Brothers Auto Interiors"...they have several shops out here in the 'Burbs...could do it. |

Agreed. When we were doing my PPI. I had the car up on a lift, and was able to view it. It was extremely clean, too. Both in actual cleanliness, and structure. |

I totally agree with you Frank. And I'm even more happy about my painted roof. It leaves the lines flowing, just like on Tod's car. BTW: The cars look great from underneath as well. Would love to do some underbody shots one day. If somebody has a lift? |

You know. At any angle, these are truly beautiful cars. But,those "overview shots" show that these babies are truly, works of art. |

Yes Frank, that was Soldier Field. One day I have to go there when no game is being played and take some more. Stunning building.

One more thing...Damn! these are beautiful cars! Aren't they? I also hope that some other F-Chatters from around the country, that have never been to Chicago, visit this thread and see what a beautiful, and clean city that Chicago is. |

Jack and Tod, great pictures! I've made this experience on the Batavia drive and unfortunately on this one again: When I'm busy 'leading' the drive, I'm getting to excited about that part and focus less on taking pictures and it takes a toll on their quality. Next drive I'll just follow the leader and take better pics...and less grass samples.
PS: Has already been repainted. |

Skip, I was thinking of you and the gang, but didn't have an email thread left anymore in my inbox. So send another silly witch joke and I'll keep it this time for emergency notifications. OTOH: Checking on FChat isn't really all that hard: The Chicago section isn't as lively and the color change of the threads shows you whether there has been an update since your last login. This drive has been posted for quite a while. |

Sheesh gang, I've said it before and I'll say it again; how bout' emails and phone calls. I check email daily, but I don't check all sections of 'Chat' daily; there's just too much stuff! If we knew about it, I probably would have been there, and Dave and Bill and Chelle, and Kim too! And some others from the 'Northern Contingent'! Helmut and Gisela, why didn't you let us know about this drive? |

Lookin' good! How we made it from Soldier Field,to the French countryside, then, back to Montrose Harbor,is a mystery! Man,were those great Skyline photo ops,or what. |
