I am going to the Chevy/Vettefest on November 22nd.,or 23rd. Even though I love my Ferrari,I still love other cars, too. I've been neglecting my poor little Corvette the past few years. Not driving it as much as my Ferrari. But,at the Chevy/Vettefest. They not only have some nice 'Vettes, and old Chevy's ,and street rods. But,alot of vendors with scale cars. Last year,I got a nice, brand new 1:18 scale 288GTO for $15.00!Another year,I found a brand new,in box, scale model of a 308GTS. It had "Magnum P.I." on the box. Was still in it's original shrinkwrap. For $15.00 I haven't built it,yet. Also, have some guys with memorabilia, signs, posters, stuff like that. At another Chevy/Vettefest,a couple years back,I got a porcelain covered steel FERRARI sign, with the Cavalino on it for $20.00. I also found 4 large,Ferrari 308 posters there, that were on cardboard,so that they were flat, and not all rolled up. And,at another Chevy/vettefest,about 3 years ago. My wife was with me,and we saw a couple guys from Aerosmith there,Tom Hamilton, the Bass player. And,Brad Whitford, one of the Guitarists, with his wife and kids. It was pretty funny. They went totally unnoticed there...until I saw them. Got their autographs. They are REALLY into cars, and own Ferrari's too. So,you never know what you'll find there!

Thanks for that tip! But,I'll still stop and check 'em out. Every year,at the Chicago Auto Show,in February. They bring some cars from the Museum over to McCormick place, and put on display. Saw alot of very cool muscle cars, and old cars. I like looking at the old, late 20's and 30's cars.

I was at Volo about a month ago. They have a lot of beautiful cars but no Ferraris. They do a good job of updating their inventory on their website. It is worth the trip.

Well,so far,the weather people are saying that this weekend is a wash. But,the weekend of Saturday,November the 8th.,or,Sunday,the 9th.,if the weather is nice,I will be doing this drive,if anyone else would care to join, that would be fantastic. Will have to just wait and see what the weather will be like a little closer to those dates. If I go up North, may even stop and check out the Volo Auto Museum. I have never been there, and hear that they have some exquisite cars there. Maybe, some Ferrari's?

Or,better yet. Time permitting. Could drive a big circle. Start out driving up Rt.12,to Wisconsin. have some quick lunch. Then, head east, and work our way over to Sheridan Rd.,and drive that back South. Through the curvy, wooded, ravinious roads. Just a thought...

I would still like to take a drive up Route 12 up to Lake Geneva, for some lunch. Check out Fall colors. Andreas,if you've never been to Lake Zurich,it is right off of Rt.12. They, more than likely, would have some Swiss Specialty shops. Could either eat in Lake Geneva,or,go a little bit east on Highway 50,and hit "The Brat Stop" at Hwy.50 and I-94. The BEST Brats anywhere. Good food. Can pick-up some Sausages and Cheese for home. Nice atmosphere. Can watch a little bit of a Football game,or something. Then, head back home via I-94/294. If you'd like. Or,back the same way that we came up,if you live that way, too. I think that it would make for a nice drive. Bring the radar detectors, and Walkie-Talkies. It is mostly 2 and 4 lane roads,55 MPH when out of a town. But,probably have enough small town cops on the way. So,whoever has V1 can lead, and take up the rear! Probably not any worse than anywhere else, though. I think that they watch speeders a little closer in Wisconsin.

Well, until there is snow, ice and/or salt on the roads. I am up for a drive anytime. Anywhere. We still have some decent weather out. And,my Ferrari just LOVES the colder, denser air. But...don't they all! We can probably squeeze in another Fall color drive,or two. All of the leaves have not fallen yet. If anyone is up for it,just post here.
