Though I have not purchased any cars (yet) from LFSC, I have a good friend who has purchased three cars here, and his father purchased one here as well. Both he and his dad have found this dealer to be very respectable. They treat you, and your car, right. They are honest, and always disclose everything they know about their cars. I can tell you with a good degree of confidence that you will be pleased in your dealings with them, if past history is any indicator of future.

I bought 3 Ferraris from LFSC, in the past......and 3 from Continental Auto......my most recent one was a 1983 Boxer BBi, just purchased 3 weeks ago.

Greg and LFSC, and Lonny at Continental, are both very professional, curteous, and knowledgeable.

I agree with Bill, that finding the "right" car is the most important item.

At both the dealerships, they only deal with, what I saw, where the best examples of the car one would want. I never saw any "junk"

I think I remember some bad press about LFSC on the main message board a little while back. You may want to do a search to be sure. Not positive though.

I bought a 328 GTS from LFSC last year. So far my experience with them has been excellent.

Here are a couple of examples:

When I purchased the car it had new front tires. After driving it for a while I noticed it was a little nervous at speed. I took it back and asked about it. After a road test it was determined that the problem was different tire tread patterns from front to rear. They replaced all four tires, no charge.

When I was working on the cosmetics this past winter I found what appeared to be some dried water spots on the front fender. No amount of polishing would remove them so while having service done in the spring I asked about it. Turns out that the fender had been sprayed by LFSC for a previous owner and the paint had shrunk. There's no way I would have known this but they owned up to it and re-sprayed the fender, no charge.

I haven't had any experience with Continental except while shopping but they too were friendly and helpful. Actually, LFSC spoke highly of Continental as well. I agree with William though, both of these dealers appear to be first rate so find the best car. For my money an authorized dealer is worth the few extra bucks. Get verifiable service records and have the car checked out by whichever dealer you don't buy from. A few more dollars again but worth the peace of mind.

Bought a testarossa new from LFSC in '89, and yes paid the going rate back then. Nevertheless, Greg Berner the salesman and Rick Mancuso the owner were very nice people to work with, and were simply selling at the market prices everyone did. On the other hand, Continental in Hinsdale is also a first-rate organization. Very friendly sales staff, and Parts & Service people are also good at advice and help to find parts. I think the most important factor is simply finding the right car. Service records are a must, and should be verifiable.

Greetings Tifosi of Chicago. This fall I plan to purchase my first Cavallino. I'm weighing the advantages and disadvantages of buying from an authorized dealer, unauthorized dealer, or as third party source such as exotics4less.com. I've investigated the various dealers online. From my research LFSC looks very experienced and honorable. They are considerably higher than stick, though, even for used 360 Berlinettas. Your thoughts or experience would be of enormous value on LFSC as well as any other CHI area dealer. Many thanks
