It sounds better that way! You wouldn't say "Berlinetta Boxer 512", you would say "512 Berlinetta Boxer" it just sounds better! |

i've lived in europe for 30 years and always knew them and called them bb512, coz thats what it says on the back of the car.......... just like mercedes used to be 500sl, until they changed it around and now you call it sl500.... |

I'm European and have always thought of them as 512BB and 512BBi, from as far back as I can remember |

It has nothing to do with the 512TR. I've been referring to these cars as the 512BB or 512BBi since way before the 512TR ever existed. I think it's just because the numbers have always come before the letters in Ferrari nomenclature. 250GT, 250GTO, 275GTB, 330GTC, and on and on and on through the 308GTB, 348tb, etc. |

Why do you think most people in the USA refer to the Boxer as a 512BB or 512BBi ? All the factory literature/manual/warranty book on the car uses BB512 or BB512i and that is also what the emblems on both the dash and rear of the car indicate. I note in Europe and Asia BB512 or BB512i is properly used . Just wondering why most of us yanks use the wrong nomenclature for the car. |
