Jim,
I am 6'4'' and without the seat all the way back I lose my leg after about 10 minutes due to low blood flow :-)

I purchased mine from TRutlands...They searched far and wide and found mine i believe in europe NOS. It was ~$1400. I promptly broke it...I had it opened and sitting, and I figured I'd fold it and keep it behind the seats (on the parcel shelf) as a permanent solution...only I didn't know how to fold it back up...tried to force it and "SNAP"...but a local machine shop made me a bunch or replacements for the little part that broke...so it's fixed. Anyway, call Margaret at TRutlands @ 800.233.7820 (I think) they have a website too...but it's kinda lame. HTH

You need the top if you need the seat all the way back, i.e., if you're over 6' tall with normal legs you need all the space you can get.

I guess I'm lost a little here. There is a nice storage area for my real top right behind my seat. It doesn't take that long to put on or take off, less than a minute. And I've gotten good at it, can have most of it done before I even get out of the car. Why do you all leave your tops at home?

I've had the factory one for my 348TS that I owned in 99. Worked like , I wouldn't recomend spending the money for it. You would only use it when its raining, and you don't have the hardtop. It doesn't work, you still get very wet. Better to park the car indoors until the rain stops, or get wood and cover the stop, for all the good the factory top will do. I'd buy the aftermarket top, and use it to cover the car when it rains.

I have the suction cupped one, and it works fine for a quick temporary cover. It is more of a "cover" than a "top", as you could not drive with it, but stows easily and installs quickly when you don't want to leave the car totally naked. I think it is made by carbrella?

There is two different. There is an aftermarket. I will be able to tell you soon because I am ordering that as well. It has suction cups that can be pinned to the side windows. I have seen it on a 308 and know they are available for the 348 as well. About $ 180.00

Then there is a factory top. Much more advanced and much more expensive. I have talked to dealers about that and they have never seen it. I think Frank talked to somebody at FoW and they were supposed to have them but I called there too and they did not know. It definetely was a factory thing, because I have it in a book that shows the top.
