POR 15 is the stuff! Easy to use and indestructable. Just dont get it on your hands, it WILL NOT come off. You can "paint" it on right over the rust, just remove the loose rust. I'm convinced POR 15 was invented by aliens. |

I swear by NuetraRust. Clean the surface as best you can and pour it in or on. I've used it for years and the surface gets almost as hard a metal and no more rust. I think the last time I got it at Auto Zone. |

I visited my local auto paint store today, and posed the same question. They recommended sand blasting with silica media, spraying an epoxy primer, the final spray with smooth or textured top coat paint. They did say that undercoating should NEVER go on to a painted surface, since the undercoating is oil based, and will not hold. Undercoating should only be applied to a clean, unpainted surface. While examining my Boxer, I noted that the flaking particles are not paint, but a coating of some sort........probably some undercoating originally sprayed on the bare metal. |

And take a picture before you fix it...someone someday might not believe it was "minor" without one |

We Lotus Europa guys swear by POR15. Yes, you MUST have an immaculate surface or it won't stick, at least for long. Proporly done it lasts forever. |

Used Por15 on my 400's chassis, works well and lasts, reall easy to put on, as long as you remember to remove any oil or grease residue! |

While working on my Boxer, I noticed that a couple of the frame brace members have surface rust on them. The A/C water drain was above the lower panels......I fixed that problem, but, now want to restore the frame sections. Would this work?: Sand blast, with silica media, down to bare metal Prime with something that inhibits rusts Paint with black trim paint Spray with black undercoating Any comments? Thanks
