Kuzi... anytime you're ready, come on down. If we don't have an event, we'll make an event out of it! Please bring a few eligible passengers with you, too! ;) Btw, thinking about taking a trip up to the Northwest... maybe end of next month. I'll give you a call. Ben C, stay tuned on that one... some updates to follow. I'll keep you posted. |

It was good to meet you all- the drive I consider a success. No tickets, a funny run in with a wannabe cop/ car detailer in an X cop car, a wonderful late lunch, bunches of winding roads, a number of people nice enough to allow us to pass by pulling over... So far this trip Melissa and I have put over 1800 miles on the Gregio Mondial shown below, which by the way is available for sale. Gas milage has been great(for a 3.2) and it has performed flawlessly. The run from Jack in the Box to the Concorso Italiano Friday was a blast as well. |

Me in a bikini won't look half as good as Dan, I guarantee it. Jordan plays a mean instrument, let me tell you. The music he makes sounds like nothing else!! Ha! Amanda, like we discussed earlier - you drive on the track in a bikini and I'll wear speedo. ;) Sunny P.S. Drive thread or skin fest... you decide. I vote move the drive pics to a different thread LOL |

I have a question abt Roland's F40. I dont know much abt the LM's and was wondering why his tail lamps are located slightly more inboard, and slightly lower than the street F40s. Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me. There are better photo examples of this in the following thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/167223/285175.html?1061270442 Thanks for any input! |

Jean-Louis, I never said you could buy a house in a good neighborhood for 325,000. I said that the median house in L.A. county costs 325,000. That price takes into account areas such as E.Los angeles, Wilmington, Cudahy, Bell, etc etc... |

G Green, I wish I could by a house for $325,000 in a nice neighborhood in Los Angeles. For that price you are lucky if you can get a small 2 Bedroom Condo in a nice area. |

Joe, You mentioned the positive, now here's the negative. 1. The median price for a house in L.A. county is 325,000. 2. They just tripled car registration fees. 3. Unless you make a good salary you will be living in a gang infested area. 4. The city is full of Illegal aliens. 5. Insurance prices for cars is higher than most parts of the country. 6. The traffic is horrendous. 7. The state has a huge deficit. 8. There is always the fear of earthquakes. 9. The divorce rate is 50% |

This is why I idolize California (even though I've never been). Based on my research: 1) It's always sunny - never a cloud in the sky 2) You will see super cars driving down the road on an average day 3) All the women are incredibly beautiful |

Byron Thanks for posting up the pics. The sound of the cars was simply amazing. The Diablo sounded like no other, The F40LM had a smooth rumble that was unbelievable. Flames from its exhaust was an interesting sight as well. Bob Callahan's 355 just sounds scary in the canons. Maybe on the next drive we need to do sound bites of cars as well. JLM |

They definitely worked on the exhaust note. It had a pleasing rumble and was still refined, never strained. An interesting engine bay with the carbon fiber work and absorbers mounted in the center right below the front of the engine, not sure if there were 4 absorbers or just the two. I think it outputs just into the around 330bhp and someone mentioned it was an Oldsmobile engine? I didn't spend much time around it playing sweep or being in the front of the pack to see how it handled. |

How was the Shelby at keeping up? I have only seen two on the road, both being driven moderately. Are they fast? How did it sound? Thanks, f |

On Sunday, August 17th, a group of Ferrari Driving Club members decided to meet up... Among them, Roland Linder, and his very special Ferrari F-40 LM... Some other cars were there, including the following: 308 GT4, 348 Spider, 348 TS, 348 Challenge, 355 Spider, 360 Modena, 360 Spider, 365 2+2, F-40, Testarossa, Mondial Cabriolet, NSX, Viper, Diablo VT, XJ6, 996TT, 996 Cabriolet... just to name a few! The drive took us from LA to Thousand Oaks, where we met up and discussed the day's events. Drivers, passengers, and enthusiasts gathered as beautiful machines pulled into the parking lot one by one... Among the myriad of cars of what seemed like an art gallery, stood the famous F-40 LM owned by Roland Linder. Perched alongside this monster of a machine was yet another amazing example of the F-40. After a brief drivers' meeting, the engines fired up and filled the air with a sweet sound of fine tuned instruments. It was music to our ears. Soon we found ourselves on the freeway, making our way northbound to a small town called Buellton. As we stop to take a stretch break, we are met with crowds of people - kids smiling, and parents watching safely at a distance... amazed. After a short fuel stop, we pass through the quiet town of Solvang... then sweep through the the Santa Ynez valley enroute for Santa Barbara. As we pass through the foothills of Montecito and wind our way through the historical Santa Barbara hills, we make our way to Ojai. The road to Ojai is scenic, passing orchards, estates, rolling hills, and a hidden lake. When we arrive, we find ourselves at L'Auberge, a beautiful, quaint French cottage restaurant... With our cars nested under the shade of trees, we go inside to enjoy a nice light lunch... Following a nice meal, we embark on a final spirited drive, in perfect caravan, through the hills to Fillmore... where we go our separate ways and return to our homes... Special thanks to Roland Linder for allowing us to experience a chance of lifetime to run with his F-40 LM. For all of you who attended, thank you for making this a wonderful, safe, and extremely memorable event. If you didn't get a chance to join us for this event, stay tuned... Please join us in Southern California for a number of future events to come! Forza Ferrari. Forza FDC.
