Don't anyone believe these Seattle guys.
It's a plot to keep folks from moving there..
Every time I have been in that fair (but traffic congested) town the weather has been mostly beautiful, resplendant with scenery and people terrific.
And it's ez to find a coffee shop....

DJ,
Said like a true "Californian Hater"... :-)

Whenever I call the office back east and they ask me about the weather, I just say "raining", keeps the conversation short.

The rain problem shows up here in November and doesn't stop until May. Highest suicide rate in the country. Don't move here!. We only have summer for about a week in August then it is cloudy all of the time. Nothing to do but stay inside and work on cars and drink coffee. ;~}

When my 308 is on display I place a card in the engine bay and on the dash with the basic specs of the car.
Engine size, bore and stroke, vehicle weight, estimated top speed etc..straight out of the book except for horse power. I always list it as "Hundreds and hundreds". I usually get a few nods but from those that know it's usually a laugh.
Power to weight ratio just isn't that great on a 308.

Nothing,Nothing,and,in my garage! Seriuosly,When we first got into a Ferrari (actully BOUGHT one) We did not care about initial cost,service and maintenance costs,resale value-up or down,and the (help me with this one)"idiosynchrisies" of owning an EXOTIC automobile. We WANTED a Ferrari!No "ifs,ands,or buts,about it! And did whatever we had to to get into one. I am starting to wonder as to how many actual Ferrari owners are on these sites,and how many dreamers (or,"other" car type owners who get off berating Ferraris.) And for anyone who owns a Ferrari,and likes to berate the car,time to get out,and get yourself into a fine,Toyota Camry!(isnt that the car that "they" as in the automotive press.Constantly herald as the best car ever conceived!) I mean come in,you cant moan TOO much about a twenty-something,year old car. Cars have come a long way in the past 20 years. Look at what these kids are churning out of these 4 cylinder imports. When people ask me "how much horsepower does it have?" They expect me to say,"A thousand" or something. And,these days,alot of what would be considered,"regular cars" have more HP than a 308/328,whatever. But,then you have to explain "power to weight ratios" and blah,blah,blah. I love MY Ferrari for what it IS,not for what it isnt. As do the majority of (real) .Ferrari owners,I am sure! THAT is why I own one. Thanks for reading my philosophical babbling. But,I am a real Ferrari lover,and get aliitle upset when I visit websites,and see posts from guys berating the car. I am gonna go out to my garage,now,and put a nice,fresh coat of wax on my baby

I whole heartedly agree with Frankieferrari. In my own words it is about the love of the car.

Since joining our local chapter I have not met ONE member that came across with 'attitude'. I know there are people in my chapter that make in a month what I make in a year but you wouldn't know it by looking at them or talking to them. Maybe I haven't met everybody yet but so far it has been an enjoyable experience everytime I go out to a rally or show.

IT'S ABOUT THE MARQUE and helping each other keep it alive and to enjoy the drive while we do so. I was told that part of ownership is to spread the experience around and share the thrill of it all. I have had that chance on occasion. I let numerous kids sit in the drivers seat on a pillow so they can see out, get their pictures taken etc... You can BET what they are going to tell their friends at school. Even giving a person a ride around the block so they can hear a DINO V8 shift at 7,000 RPM....not such a big thing for me but a swell thing to share.

I guess what I am trying to say is I can't lose sight of why I bought this car or it is no longer good or fun.

So instead of tearing each other up on this site go take your car out for a theraputic spin. It works for me.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity :-) ...or maybe it's the gravitational pull from Mars since it's so close to the Earth right now...or it's the full moon... Ah, hell who knows, but at least it keeps things fresh around here :-)

It's not the heat (we all know it gets hot in the summer by now), it's not the gas shortage, it is because you are all bored. Shut up your negativity and smile! Life is good, and way too short to be bitching about everything. Go drive your cars tonight (even if they are not Ferrari's), open the windows (take off the top maybe) and enjoy the air. Peace, Con Saluti, Enjoy The Music, Si Benadica, Whatever......................

I must admit I enjoy the fur flying from time to time. The 8 cylinder Dino thing does get under my skin too and Frank gets blasted from time to time and he should. The lambo guy jamming his opinions on us also deserves to feel the heat. It's a natural thing to take a crack at a guy who deserves it and I for one think its just fine. Thats how opinions get changed. I also am impressed with the knowledge that some of the guys bring to the table and I've read lots of really informative info that I didn't know. We don't have to take things overly seriously and voice your views freely even if you are in the minority. Who really knows who's right on some
of these things. Maybe we could start a golden glove series at the Cavilino on an annual basis to weed out the site.

Hello,there. I am new to FerrariChat,and have noticed,in the last week that I have been checking out the site,that theres alot of good s.h.eye.t,and alot of B.S. Have found ALOT of really helpful sites(Ferrari Bikinis,for instance) and alot of excessive whining. Saw one thread where some guy was whining about a "Ferrari Guy" getting a Ferrari tattoo. And,a dozen replies(appropriately) chastising this cry baby. I mean,come on,look at all the doctors,lawyers,and wall street types,who plunk down twenty,twenty-five grand,or more,to play " biker" for the weekend. And,as much as the true,real bikers who LIVE THE LIFESTYLE EVERYDAY,detest these "posers". They let them play biker for the weekend,and then let em go back to the suit and tie,9 to 5. And,I, like a lot of other people,could not care less as to who a guy is,or,who he THINKS he is,(unless theres business to be done!) outside of their "world". We are ALL Ferrari ENTHUSIASTS,plain and simple! And we should be very grateful that we can live out our all too short lives,driving the best,and,most beautiful automobile ever conceived! So,so many people ENVY us! But will have to live out a less meaningful existence,unable to ever realize the dream that we have. Also,have found alot of "Go to-know it all guys" who are a Godsend to us,sharing their knowledge of Ferrari with us. Then,as with just about every other kind of car,you get your (said in a high pitched falsetto,ala Rocket J. Squirrel) "Mr,know it alls" who can tell you EVERYTHING wrong with Ferraris,why they should have been on the engineering staff,so that these problems could have been avoided in the first place,thanks to them,and so on. You know the type -you cannot escape these guys- they infiltrate every car club!So,hey! come on! wheres the comaraderie! I have owned Vettes for over 25years,and in the past few years,the vette guys are all of a sudden getting "quite snooty" dont understand why,but... The Ferrari people that I have met since I bought mine 3 years ago,have been alot more open and friendly. NEVER a mention "what do you do?" "what do you make?" "WHERE do you live?" ETC...Always friendly and ready to help out,give advice,so on. Talk...FERRARI! THATS what its all about,isnt it? THATS why we share our passion for the Ferrari automobile. Join clubs. Chatlines.ETC.....Lets take advantage of our combined experiences,knowledge,and comaraderie and HAVE SOME FUN!! Who cares about how many or how few miles are on each others cars.Because you will all agree with me on this,we all need to DRIVE our cars MORE!!! Lets get out there! You never see Exotics out on the road! The very LEAST that we can do for our less advantaged bretheren is to let them SEE these Bella Macchines D Italy!!!!! Thanks for this time, lets all be friends, let the more knowledgable enlighten the less knowledgable, not berate them, or call them ignorant!! FORZA!!!!!

Well, if everyone would just avoid personal attacks, we'd be back to a better environment. Heck, it's fine to disagree... it makes for lively discussion. But the disagreements on an issue seem to degrade into personal attacks for some of these folks, and that's where the problem seems to be, in my opinion after watching some of this.

No Lamborghinis. I took off driving in an easterly direction. Found myself somewhere in the middle of rural Alabama at 2AM in the morning. I pulled up to a random house and knocked on the door. I asked the lady, "Excuse me, I'm lost. Would you by any chance have any Ferraris, Maseratis, or Panteras for sale?" She replied, "Sorry, you're too late. There are several parked under the shed out back, but we sold them a few days ago."
Boy was I mad. All that driving for nothing!
We then proceded to talk for several hours concerning various brands of floor mats, waxes, and license plate frames.

The reason that last week was so bad is obvious:
I was on vacation last week, was away from the work computer, and you guys could not hassle me. Your internal frustrations built up to a critical level and you turned on each other. Without the HORSEFLY to swat at, you ended up hitting each other. By the way, I spent last week looking for Ferraris in barns and found none. What's up with that?

Bruce;

If the gas shortage in Phx gets any worse i think i will go POSTAL myself. I think there is definatly something in the air since last week would have rated as one of the worse in my life.

I guess it is time to put my mind in Neutral and find a HAPPY place!!!
