I am not sure what the complete unit weights, about 10-15kg I would say. Quite heavy I guess but I am not to worried about that. The sound makes up for it. The box was made from 1/2 inch MDF because of the small space I had to play with it was difficult to get the internal area correct if I used 3/4 inch material. It was then sealed with resin and filled with a wadding.

Thanks

Oh yeh, I heard good things about JMG and his Navigater during the Rally. Congrats! The Mondial t performed great from what I heard from the other participants. It was nice seeing you at CI and Pebble JMG.

Allen,

The box probably weighs quite a bit. They usually use MDF 3/4". And the speaker itself usually weighs a little bit too. Maybe Steve R will chime in.

Steve, how much does the box weigh? Was it made out of light material?

Alas, you have more room in the rear than I do...so it would not be an option for me. Looks good in your installation though. The only thing I might suggest (and please take this as one Mondial fan to another) is adding a grill cover. As I drive mine locally, having the radio is a plus but when we drove about 900 miles in the Ferrari Challenge Rally of Sierra Nevada and I never turned my stereo on. (Unless you consider the mechanicals a stereo...)

In any case, we finished second in class so we brought a little respect to the table for us 2+2 Tifosi.

Hi Russ
The only problem was I had to buy a complete hide! The colour match is spot on. The leather was purchased from a UK company who supply many of the UK restorers for Ferrari. Glad you like it

Hi
I have just finished fitting a JL audio 10 inch subwoofer in my Mondial T. The box had to be custom made by myself to fit the contours of the car and genuine colour matched leather was purchased to cover the box. The box can be removed if I wish to put the car back to standard. The amplifier, also JL Audio, is fitted in the front of the car. This sounds great!! just thought you guys might like to see this unusual addition. Next step DVD screen in-one unit. Many Thanks Steve(UK) Upload
