Mitchel, thanks, I wouldn't mind a few more HP in the 8 (of course). I'll look into that.
It isn't the white one, mine is red.
Roberto, if I could describe it, it wouldnt be indescribable ;o)
Actually, Ill put a few miles on it and give it a shot.
I will try to post pics this weekend (By time I get home it is too dark and Im too tired).

Sam, did you get the white car from NC? That one looked really nice. I had a 82 Mondial 8 for many months, and actually LOVED the car. Itr has as superb ride, handles incredible. Put a Tubi or Ansa on it with a K&N air filter. You can contact Nick Scianna for a lot more performance mods. The Mondials are really awesome cars! Congrats!

Rosso corsa!!! When you get the chance maybe you can write a little bit more about the "indescribable Ferrari experience." Would love to hear what you do in your first days as a FCar owner. Again, Congrats!!!

Congrats...
check out my thread "the dream realized"
I have been a 308 owner for 5 days now, I don't think my heart rate has gone below 110 since Sunday!
I, too, bought sight unseen!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I should print out this thread for those who think Ferarri owners are snobs.
Joe, if you are out my way stop by and take it for a spin and find out. Yes, I will post some pics, probably this weekend. Eli, thanks for the tip!
I don't recall seeing you (your car) around town.
Rich: 355!!!
Thanks again all.

Congratulations Sam!

Pics would be cool. How did it feel when you first turned her on? It must be a great feeling! Also, post some details, like what color is it?

Joe, can you send some of that 75 degree weather down to Texas?

Sam, congrats on the new wheels!

I echo everyone else's sentiments - congrats! I am hunting for my first, as well. I drove an '85 Mondial Cab, but am holding out for a 308. I am envious!

Sam, i live in Great Neck as well. For inspection take it to Val on East Shore Rd. next to autobody works.

As for service you can either take it to Ferrari of Long Island or Auto Elite in Fort lee just over the GWB.

Sam,
Who was the gentleman in NC you bought the car from? You can email me at [email protected]

If it is from who I think it is from then you did well and got yourself a nice set of wheels (and a good deal too I'm sure).

Sam, I'd love to see some pics of your new car. I own an 85 Mondial Cab and I absolutely love it too. I just got back from picking my wife up at night school, kids and dog in the back and the 75ish degree weather was beautiful.

I've often wondered what an early Mondial 8 would be like to drive. I'd love to own a hardtop Ferrari, Mondial 8 or perhaps a GT4 too.

Best wishes
-Joe

I bought an 82 Mondial from a gentleman in NC, and it was delivered today. Im in Great Neck, NY and Id appreciate suggestions on where to take the car for its inspection and service.
The car was in the driveway when I got home from work tonight.
Of course, I had seen pics and had a PPI, but this was the first time I have seen it "in the flesh." I only sat in a Ferrari once, never had a ride in one, and certainly never driven one.
I took the car out mindful of those who admonished me not to get the slow 82 Mondial.
Yes, I suppose a Honda will blow it away. Who cares? I have a decent condition Ferrari for a low admission price, and I am loving it. With any luck at all, I will "trade up" someday, but for now, I am enjoying it for what it is, not what it is not.
I know now what everyone means when they try to describe the indescribable Ferrari experience, even with this modest model.
I've wanted one for over 20 years. I'm happy.
