You must mean a 15K and 30K... there's nothing special done at the 5k marks other than routine maintenance like oil and filter changes. According to the owners manual for a 308QV, at 15k intervals you >replace trans oil >adjust valves >replace air filter >change spark plugs >do an oil change and you inspect everything else. The spark plug thing is "recommended but not required" at that mileage. Of course, with modern platinum, gold palladium or iridium spark plugs, we don't change them as often. Unless you put a lot of miles on, you'd probably also want to do a cooling system flush and change out your brake fluid if you haven't already done that for a track event. At the 30K mark, you do all that PLUS > replace fuel filter > replace spark plugs In real life, at 30k we also change out the cam belts (the manual says inspect them but you don't have to replace them until 52.5k) and tensioner bearings, and probably change out the major hoses on the car. For belts and hoses, it becomes as much as an age thing for the rubber as it does a mileage thing.

Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but I'm still new here. What makes a 5k and 30k service so expensive ? Parts, labor ? What exactly is done during a 5 and 30k ? Is cam belts the only differences ?? Thanks !!
