ok guys, our family moved from spain and the basque country to cuba then left in '61 because of castro. With the 328 i got tons of girls from 16 to their 30s and I was 20 when I bought it and 28 when I sold it, then with the TR. I met this my long distant cousin of 15 asked me for a ride when she turned 17 last year I married her with the consent of her parents and I was 31. I still get women hitting on me, but what I like most its my house full of her 18 year old friends in little clothes, even if I cant touch them I still get a lot of boost and I food for the night! | ||

I think Bonnie is on to something. A 72 Lotus Europa is not expensive in the way a 360 is, not powerfull (although really quick) and very few women are attracted by it. But men sure are! Crowds gather around it wherever I am. Usually teenage boys, children and their fathers. Women, my wife included, give it a scornful look like it's a toy for a guy with retarded development. Dinah, did you buy the 355 Challenge for racing or did you convert it for road use. My friend bought a new 355 Challenge in the middle of the racing season and by the time he was ready there were only 2 races remaining and that was all he got on the race track, because the series was scrapped after that. So he converted the car for road use. I drove it on the road before he had the springs changed and the car was great on smooth even roads but aweful on bumpy roads. He changed the springs after that but I didn't get a chance to drive it. It must be great. | ||

I had the sales hype about "Ferraris gets girls", too. It annoyed me -- I bought this car for me. (He was also trying to impress me with the accel -- not noticing the turbo ricer I drove in with.) I learned, back when both the Alfa and I were 20+ years younger, that the women you can get just by having the "right" car -- you don't want. The stupid part is that the Alfa still gets more attention from females than the Ferrari does. The Ferrari is beautiful, but I guess the Alfa is "cute".  | ||

I was once driving in A.C. when this van pulled next to me (actually i was in the back seat) and this girl started make kissing faces at me. Once I was parked up town talking to some musclecar buddies, and I had my TR. My car stood out like a sore thumb in that crowd. Well, this car load of young girls goes by numerous times, and the two in the back seat keep screaming "a Ferrari....a Ferrari.....Stop...Stop...!!" But the girl driving didn't want to. After a while they pulled up on a side street and ran up to the car. The two "backseat" girls were very HOT...but also very young....not older than eighteen or so. They wanted to sit in it, and go for a ride, etc. I was too afraid that they were underage. My buddies thought I was an idiot! And maybe I was...but you never know nowadays. Not a Ferrari but related: Whenever I head out on my my Ducati I am always asked if it's easy to pick up girls with a bike like that. Well, I hate to say it but the girls rarely even turn their heads. However, their boyfriends always do. And then they stare, and then you get bombarded with questions. So I guess the moral of the story is that if you're a guy in your late 20'3/early 30's trying to pick up girls the bike won't do it but if you're a girl in need of some "attention," I would guess that a really fast motorcycle would do the trick. | ||

I have found teenage girls generally get pretty enthusiastic. The giggle, point and sqeel alot. I have yet to have a girl of legal age act in this manner. In general, the 308 gets too much attention for my taste. The average Joe thinks its new, will go 200mph and cost at least $150K. They see my antique plates and get very funny looks on their faces. The Daytona gets much less attention. Only real car guys notice it.... and they pretty much flip out. Never had a girl notice it except my wife. The first time she saw it she said "Looks like a Datsun". I told her if she ever said that again, I would divorce her ;) | ||

Dan, On my very first test drive, I had a lovely jogger jump in front of the car to tell me she loved "my" Ferrari. Owner just said "isn't that cool?" Sold me ; ) Wives love that feature... If you've ever been self conscious of yourself, try driving a Ferrari... It draws attention wherever you go. I suspect most owners are uncomfortable with this. I sure am.
