The actual water time is around 2 weeks. This sometimes varies depending on whether the ship goes directly from Europe to the USA. Sometimes the ship goes to South America to drop off cars.

As far as having the dealer track the car. Procedures have changed in the last couple of years. Up until 2002 the dealer could track the car's progress. Starting with 2002 cars I don't believe the dealer knows when a car actually arrives at FNA in New Jersey. The dealer knows the car is coming when they get a call from Horseless Carriage saying that the car has been loaded on the truck.

I believe FNA changed the tracking policy because they were getting too many calls from the dealer after the dealer learned the car had arrived and was sitting at FNA. Customers were worrying too much about how long it was taking to get from FNA to the dealer. There were/are some horror stories about the condition of the cars when they arrived at FNA. Some cars needed repainting or body work done. And some cars never made it to the dealer because FNA gave the car away to a special customer. As was the case with a 550 that went to a famous race car driver. Apparently he didn't want to wait and order a car so FNA invited him to pick a car that was sitting in the wherehouse. These stories are in the minority and I wouldn't worry about your car.

My 360 spider left Italy mid to late July and arrived at FNA mid august. It should be delivered to the local dealer by the end of next week.
