Try hemmings? Both online and the big thick mag. Most useful for the cars that aren't flying out of the owners garage.

The best place for me ended up being my local authorized Ferrari dealer as well. But, this was for a late model car, not a vintage one. I got two benefits, the first being I found my best deal there, the second is that I am now a "customer" and was able to put a deposit on a 360 Spider with an estimated delivery time much sooner than most here quote.

I must say, too, my sales guy was awesome to deal with.

Martin;

With a statement like that i could see you sitting on a hay stack, wearing a straw hat and overalls, smoking a corn cob pipe, then offering them a sip of white lightning!!!!!

The best deals that I have found in buying a Ferrari where from my local Ferrari dealer selling the car, BUT it was one that was on consignment. It seems that the dealer will take "choice" Ferraris to sell on consignment.......so they are basically checked by the dealer first. Then, if an issue is found, the dealer fixes the problem, before the sale, and the seller pays.

One then has the backing of the dealership, but negotiating with the owner. The 2 cars I bought this way, the dealer admitted, they would never had sold it at that price.

Their profit is from the commision, so they don't care what the car actually sells for.

Spoken like a true car salesman Martin. "I only sell what I know."

I'll have to try that sometime.

Give me a try:

Martin's big, fat, giant, colosol Used Car lot!

Our slogan: if it does not fall apart while driving off the lot, its YOURS! :-)

seriously speaking though it depends on what you are looking for. Feel free to send me an e-mail with your request and I will see what I can do for you of if I can point you in the right direction. I am not a great help in vintage cars (75 and older) but have some contacts that have nice cars.

I only sell what I know.

Tom Shaughnessy (broker) worked well for me. Depends a bit on what kind of Ferrari you are looking for.

Would definitely give Martin (Cavallino Motors) and Gerald Roush's Ferrari Market Letter an opportunity if I was in the market.

What ever you do, let me be the first to state the obvious and get a pre-purchase inspection.

Good luck!
