I wasn't the madman that did a burnout in front of your house with 25 miles on the odometer!! |

Rob, just don't tell them how many miles that 575 had on it when you drove it like a mad man. I thought they didn't have launch control on the US Models? |

The 575V12 F1 with all that torque feels so great and is totally different than the 360F1. Instead of a "flick-flick-flick" through the gears, it is more like "pull-pulling-WOW what long legs you have!". I thought the one I drove had the most appealing power characteristics of any car I've ever driven-including the usual and an F-40. |

Dr.S I love the F1-it fits perfectly with the entire feeling of this great GT machine. If I get another 360 or its replacement not sure whether I'd opt for 6 spd or F1-probably a 6 spd-it just feels right in the 360. Regards |

Kuzi, I can't discern any difference in performance. The only way IMO would be dyno before and after.Even if there were an additional 5-8 hp I certainly can't tell especially when one is starting with 515HP. Are you coming to Sun River this weekend? |

hey guys, besides the sound, are there any performance differences with the stebro-tubi set up? |

Mark + Martin, Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted to hear. No welding is a good thing. I have the CarGraphic, which IMO is a lot more basso-profundo than the tubi, especially in the mid and upper range, but isn't as intrusive down low. If the Stebro doesn't resonate, etc. I'm definetly sold, as the 550/575 could always use a bit more growl (especially with so much sound deadening). Easily reversible is always good. --Dan |

Dan: I agree completely with Martin. I have the Stebro pipes in addition to the Tubi exhaust and the Stebro really made it come alive in terms of proper V12 sound in the mid and upper rev range. I highly recommend it. It took my mechanic about an hour and is easily reversible. |

Dan, I really like the stebro-deep resonating not too intrusive. No welding necessary-took my guy 2 1/2 hrs to fit it. |

Martin, Not too get too off-topic, but how are you liking the Stebro these days? I am very pleased with the CarGraphic, but considering the Stebro in addition, especially if it is a reversable process (clamps vs. welding). --Dan |

Alex described the 2 cars very well.Since I do little track time these days and do a significant amount of long distance touring I prefer the 575MM.(to answer your query,Tino) |

My 2cents worth. I have them both (575 and 360) and they are as advertised. The 360 is a fast, tossable sports car, fantastic on the track and really direct. The engine revs need to be kept up, probably above 4,000 for the car to feel like it's accelerating rapidly, but the direct nature of the car is really where the fun is. You really need to be in the right gear exiting a corner or the car bogs a little and then picks up speed as the revs climb. The 575 is the quintessential grand tourer - heavier and less responsive to rapid directional changes, but only relative to the 360. Relative to most other "regular" cars the 575 feels extremely direct and responsive. Its forte is really on the freeway and on long banked curves where it sticks like glue and never feels like it's going too fast. Going from one to other in the same day can be disconcerting. From the 360 to the 575 makes the bigger car feel initially too heavy, but that goes away pretty quickly. Going the other way and the 360 almost feels like something was not tightened up and it wants to get away from you. Steering inputs have to be scaled back or else you'll find yourself turning in waaay too soon. Regarding the initial direction of this thread, I've seen 575's with little or no owner miles around $220,000 and less than that as the miles climb. Mine's a keeper, so I don't really watch the market very closely, but I can wholeheartedly recommend it. I love to drive it and it has more than enough torque across a broad range to be driven at urban speeds without discomfort. |

Dr. Martin, Sometimes this Apple and Orange thing does not make sense. Sometimes you have to decide wether you prefer the apple or the orange... So please tell us, if you were to keep one of the two, now that you've experienced both, which one would it be ? |

As Dean said the 360 and the 575 are completely different cars and comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. The 360 is light, tossable and to get the most out of it one must keep the revs up.The 575 is larger, heavier, more of a touring car with blinding speed and torque.I loved the 360 (had a 6 spd) and love the f1 575 too. |

I looked for quite a while at 575s and 550s - I did not find any good low mileage 2002 575s for less than $200. Lots of excellent very low mileage U.S. 2000/01 550s in the $140 - $160 range. (fyi - I looked on the west coast). Also, for what it is worth - likely nothing - many claim to like the 550 better than the 575 (both looks and performance). |

If I can bud in. You better drive one before you get too serious. They drive VERY differently than a 360. Heavy, softer, plusher... Now, I love it and that is why I have one, but if you expect it to drive anything like the 360, guess again. It is somewhere between a 360 and a Mercedes. But fast as all hell. |

Martin, how would you describe the driving experience of a 575M. I have never driven a 550/575. I currently have a 2003 360F1, before that a 996TT and before that 2x F355. I love the looks of the Maranello, very heavyweight and by the sound of it could trade up from my 360 for not too much money. |

Mark, Obviously depends on whether a 6 spd or F1 and what options as well as private vs dealer. Also consider asking price vs real selling price. I would say 175-180k for a 6spd low option car to $185 to 190 for a fi loaded.
