Hi, I was in Maranello in may. The factory tour is great, but the Galleria Ferrari too (10 euros/ticket), if you don't have the chance to go inside. But, the best that could happen is : if you have the chance to see Ferrari on the Fiorano track, every open day, there is a lot of tests in the town and on the track with Stradale, Enzo and F2003GA too !

I slept in the Manni Hotel, very nice and cheap at only 500 meter of the factory ! And there is many other thing to view, that is a little town you can't miss anything.

Have fun

I requested a tour in Mid October. I will be in Italy and Europe for almost 3 weeks.
The weekend of October 18,19 there is Tutti Le Ferrari in Mugello, Italy. I plan on going there and doing the tour a couple days before or after the event.
To get in the factory, you need to own a Ferrari and have your closet dealer set it up. You can bring other people with you, because I reserved a spot for up to 4 people.

It is the Ferrari Pilota school and very few people get in. Only a few slots are given to the US dealers each year and you need to be in very tight with your dealer to receive an invitation. I mean a dealer like Ferrari of Dallas with its racing contact with Ferrari (Risi Comp and challenge teams) only receives one or two invitations a year to administer.

This is a two part driving program and is very good from what I was told by several who attended.

Sounds like it would be beneficial for you to establish some sort of rapport with a FNA dealer if you want to participate in the corporate programs.

We stayed at the Domus hotel. It's on the main piazza, and easy walking distance to the museum and factory. One thing we liked was the fact that so many people associated with Ferrari have stayed there. Its an older hotel, seeped in history.
IL Cavilino restaurant is a must, but reservations are required, especially for lunch.

Yes, Ferrari offers those on the Fiorano track. Some folks here have done it. You might want to do a search as well.

360 was a euro import conv, sold to me from prestiege Imports in Miami FL.
Thanks for all the information everyone.
Do any of you know of any good driving schools in italy? I heard mention of a driving school that supplies you with instruction in both a 360
and 575.

,

Who sold you your 360? If it is a dealer, they should be more than willing to arrange a tour for you. You can contact FNA themselves and get it set up. Speak to Myrna. She arranges all the tour reservations for the dealers. You will need a reservation to get in the door at the factory. Their main switchboard number is (201)816-2600. Tell her I said hello.

Shawn, contact FNA directly. They're *very* helpful. All they need is a fax of the title (to proove your ownership) and a few dates from which they (the factory) can pick one.

Normally the F1 races are two weeks apart. Your best chances to see them test at Fiorano are on week immediately following the race weekend, normally Tuesdays are good.

Gil, I live close to Shelton Ferrari, Where I have my 360 serviced. However, I find they have been less than helpful when it comes to Ferrari Tour information. Is there any dealer you would recommend going through, or perhaps a tour service that can setup other factory tours for me?

Shawn,

I definitely think a visit to Ferrari Mecca is worth it. My wife and I did it last year as we drove all over Italy before heading the the Monaco Grand Prix.

For the factory tour, you need to be an owner and arrange for a pre-reserved tour through your local Ferrari dealer (or directly through Ferrari North America). The Galleria and Ferrari store (across the street from the factory) are open to anyone and are definitely worth it. There are also a number of Ferrari stores in walking distance from the factory that are fun to go looking around in.

When I was there, I walked over to the fence that overlooks Ferrari's Fiorano race track and got to see Schumacher practicing for Monaco. They might be doing some testing while you're there. You can't miss the sound of the F1 engine. You can hear it all over town.

I also enjoyed having a meal at the Cavallino restaurant across the street from the factory as it was the spot where Enzo frequently dined.

I stayed one night in Maranello and one in Modena. I also pre-arranged tours at the other car factories/museums - Maserati, Lamborghini, Detamaso, etc.

Do not stay in Maranello. Stay in Modena. I like the Hotel Real Fini myself. It is twenty minutes to Maserati Corsa and Twentyfive to Maranello.

If you want the grand tour email Renate Goldmann at [email protected]. Tell her that you are interested in acquiring a 1995 - 2000 F1 Ferrari. Ask what they have on offer and what the current prices are. (They range from 500K Euros to a little over 1M Euros depending on history. She will then invite you to come and visit Ferrari Cleint Services and show you the F1s that are available for sale as well as client F1 cars in for repair and service.

Ask for her to arrange a Ferrari Factory tour during your visit.

I had Sig. Scaglietti's and his grand son for a tour guide this past may. Very nice gentlemen. The grand son is one of Ferrari's lawyers and on permanent staff.

You will find Renate most accomodating.

PS: Several weeks ago, I sold my 1997 Monaco / Spa winning F310B, s/n 175 that came from their shop.

check the archives and search for "Factory Tour" in the title and you will find LOTS of info. Just recently I posted all the info to someone who had the same question. My experience with the hotel, which room to stay in and all the other good things to look out for.

Search this forum, we had this topic several times. Yes all worth it, but you basically need to be an owner (or an owner's guest) to get into the factory.

Personally I thought the museum (which is open to everybody) was more interesting.

A hotel is right across the factory. Lots of memorabilia shops in town, the priest who rings the bells when the cars win, lots of great food places in town most of which with Ferrari or racing themes. Also go to Modena.

There were at least two Forza issues with recommendations for places to visit, eat and sleep while in town.

Shawn,

Getting into the factory is tough but the Galleria is well worth it. Maranello has a lot of Ferrari related shops, etc. If they're testing at Fiorano you can stand behind the fence and watch. The first time we were there we saw them testing the Enzo prior to public announcement.

If there's an F1 race on you can watch it with all the rest of the Tifosi at the Enzo Ferrari Auditorium in the center of town.

I haven't stayed in Maranello proper. Usually we stay in Modena, which is a beautiful little city in itself. You might want to check into Maserati and Lamborghini which are also in the area.

Try the Canal Grande hotel in Modena. Check out Allegretti race cars for the superb 1/5th scale cars and go prepared to put on a few pounds. The Emilia Romano is Italy's best food.

Has anyone done this from the board? Is it worth the trip?
Any Suggestions of other cool places to visit while there? e.g. Ferrari Driving schools???
Hotels? Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance.
