He put the black speedlines on it. Not sure of the size, but they look like the ones on the 355 challenge cars.

KDS,

I know Zahir fairly well also. Goes to the same church as me.

I have been for a ride in his silver twinner 993, but haven't had a chance to cruise in the F40.

I heard about the deer....but the new wheels on the car look great

Bill Noon.....You beat me to the punch. LOL !!!

James.....I know the owner of that F-40 here in Calgary personally and have seen the car several times.

That car hit a deer on the highway 2 years ago and the front end has been rebuilt. It was put back together correctly and upgraded from what I have been told and also seen, and I expect that the owner wouldn't want it any other way as well from what I know of him.

Lawrence Yee,

There is an F40 here in Calgary, which is driven on the street. I have posted pictures of it on this site in the past

TigerAce- read my post again. "bank was closed because it was Sunday" (otherwise,if it was open,I'd have that car ,right now.) Had the good credit-unfortunately,as I also stated in that post,"the guy didn't want to wait til the next day, when the bank was opened". And,lastly, mentioned was: "so now I always make sure that I bring enough money for a decent deposit to hold the car". So,basically, what I'm saying is: it will never happen again! Hasn't happened again! And... Got it covered!

I just talked to my mechanic over in Vancouver and he says there is no F40 here (and he knows who has what). There's only one he knows of and that was in Montreal.

Mr. Noon is correct in that if it's true, it's gone by now...

The 175,000 is US dollars..sorry should have said that from the begining. Like the title of the post says it is a rumor going around amung a few people that I know, who are big time F-car enthusiests. I believe one fellow is trying to track the car down to find out all the details. Wether it's true or not I have know idea. I imagine some of you guys could find out pretty fast if you really wanted to.

Anything could happen in life. Since I am not interested in owning F-40, I don't know the current price. Is $175K outrageously cheap?

I am more like Bruce. What else is there for bargain?

Frank, interesting story or interesting way to tell the story. Cash talks, BS walks. Maybe I should get pre-approval on loans for an occasion like that.

Rich, you are lucky you made $ w/ your toys. I don't think I ever made $ selling my toys. Recently I spent $ to fix my vintage car, and the cost of re-store was several K more than the current value. No wonder, huh?

Billnoon, we can all dream or imagine to enjoy. And if it was true, wouldn't you be interested?

I imagined finding a good buy F355, 512TR, 550, & Lambo Gallardo........

I'm sure if someone really wanted, they could find a euro F40 at or around 200k. I don't know what the conversion costs would be, but they can't be much more than 20-30k, can it? Even that seems too high, given how few the differences are.

How did he suddenly lose it? It's been going up for months. What's he been doing, short selling for the last 3-years and kept on shortn' after the October bottom?

Come on guys...

did you all just fall of the apple cart...

If the car was real and the guy needed $175K US or Canadian none of us would have ever heard about it. The first person who knew what the car was would have paid up.

Nonetheless, if you thinks this is real I will put up $200K for the car as long as it is free and clear and not roached!

Good luck.

I sold a lot of my "toys" (a couple of italian cars and an an old triumph bike, etc.) when all my customers (dot coms) went belly up (usually without paying...), but heck, I made a profit overall! My toys held money better than my 401k!

I guess that guy should have bought a 60s Ferrari instead...

True...always,the first things to go,are the "toys". Bet that alot of "dot-com" millionaires are in that same boat, right now! And,like they always say...to be in the right place at the right time...I remember a few years back. I went to a Chevy/Vettefest here in Chicago. I used to buy Vettes that needed a little work-mostly just cosmetic-and turn em around and sell them (while driving them)I had a car there For Sale, nothing special, just a run of the mill '75 coupe. This show went from Friday evening to Sunday evening. On Friday nite, while walking around, checking out what was there. I saw a really nice,'69-427/435 tri-power,4 speed, convertible. Triple Black! WOW! (ofcourse,NOT a Ferrari!) anyway, he started out asking low $30's for the car. By Saturday afternoon, mid $20's. By Sunday afternoon,$19,000.00! Approaching closing time,6:00PM. This guy would have taken $13,000.00 for the car, because he did not want to have to haul it all the way back to Canada.(it was November. Cold, snow, general Chicago crappy winter weather.) but,I didn't have the $$ to buy it,(no one bought my car, either!) And,it was Sunday-my bank was closed, and he was not gonna stay overnight. He had left Canada for Chicago early on the previous Thursday, and wanted to get back home,(apparently, not THAT eager to wait one extra day to sell the car) So, a potentially GREAT deal, lost. Oh well, will NEVER forget that one! Nowadays,I always bring enough dough to at least put down a nice deposit to "hold" the car! This is a true story. Although, you always hear the one about the pissed off wife, that sells her husbands (special car here) for $100.00,through an ad ,selling it as an "old ______"

I have no details on the condition of the car. All I have heard is that the guy is in serious trouble and has to sell NOW!!! I wish I could buy the car but I don't have that kind of dough. There was another one that just sold somewere in the U.S for $210,000. A dealer friend of mine just bought an 84 512bbi for $65,0000 CND. He found the car in Saskachwan. The car is mint, and has only 10,000km on the clock. Complete history and a one owner car.

$175k for an F40...? Where's Jordan...? He could sell those instruments and snatch that bad boy right up...

Is anything wrong with the car...? Wouldn't an F40 sell for twice that without any hesitation...?

I was just informed of an F-40 in Vancover. The seller is asking $175,000. The car apparently belonged to a fellow who lost almost everything in the stock market and needs to sell the car asap. Aparently he has a large car collection that he is selling off to pay a large amount of money that he owes to the banks, and taxes. I was wondering if anybody out there can varify this story.
