The 'spy photos' on those websites are not what the new 460 will look like... |

For my money the 456 remains perhaps the most completely beautiful Ferrari yet. I am familar with vehicle having admired them since they were introduced, and have come close to owning one twice. Anyway, I saw an early black version in the street in London early yesterday morning and found myself stopping, crossing the road, walking around the car and saying to myself, yep, better get one!! The new car looks altogether more "sportif" which is not, in itself, a bad thing, however I hope the real thing maintains the stateliness that the F 2+2's should (in my view) have. |

You know, the more I look at it, the more I see some hints of those sketches under the disguise of the test mule... Maybe things won't be so bad after all ;) Best! Ben. |

The new Ferrari 2+2 would be the most beautiful 2+2 ever made by Ferrari, view this numerical preview pictures : http://www.cavallino.cc/index.php?section=stradali/ferraris/modele/2plus2 |

It looks to this humble observer that the whole rear end (on the 460) is a disguise. At least everything above the tail light. While I admire the 456 styling, I think that the new 460 with the longer hood reminds me of the XKE and Datsun 240Z. |

This may be a perfect example of how beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Hopefully the car in the "spy photo" is heavily disguised in some way because I think it's quite hideous. I have always loved the 456's classic lines and this replacement just looks "out of sorts"; hood is too long and what's the deal with the weird sculpting leading to the tail lights? Just my humble opinion of course - I think the Enzo is pretty hard on the eyes too. On the other hand, I have read here and elsewhere that that 550 Maranello is either "average looking" or even ugly, while to me the 550 is one of the most beautiful cars to ever grace this earth (along with the 288GTO and F40). Of course, to each his/her own. Here's to the old style:

The front end looks like a Panoz. |

The increase in horsepower is certainly a necessary move in the right direction. |

Two of my friends who have ordered the cars have been invited by the factory to "view" the car in Maranello in the 2nd week of October. They're very excited and Luca di had sent letters to them and other potential customers telling them that the car will look like the official sketch released by Ferrari recently. It's going to be a beauty. |

I just got this weeks Autocar magazine in the UK. It shows some spy pictures of the 460GT that replaces the 456. The is as good and maybe better looking then the 550. The will have just over 550 BHP from its detuned V12 engine from the ENZO. The car will reach 198 mph. They have detuned the engine to give the 460GT a better and smoother torque curve. Its will be lanched in Germany in January 2004. Its the 'DOGS BOLLOCKS' I want one... |
