I have an 86 Countach 5000QV, If you plan on restoring a Countach I hope you are a wealthy masochist cus thats what you'll have to be :-) The clutch has to be replaced every 4,000 miles or so which is a herculean job cus you have to pull the entire engine & transmission Every friggin time through the opening on top which is like putting a completely built ship model into a bottle. not fun.

Of course once you finish the car it will have very good power, lousy brakes, good handling but you can barely see out of it & you cant see the apexes to corners. I'm just waiting for the market to recover & I'm trading mine, Maybe a Porsche GT2 :-)

Well, I am walking in blind. Does it look like its repairible for under the value of the car? I sent an e-mail asking for pics. I doubt I will pic it up right now, cause I am finishing the 308 first. Maybe after I am done and if he still has it, I might take on a new project =]

Hello, I am a proud owner of a '78 308 GTS although its in a million pieces right now. Anyways, this is not relative to my restoration project and no, I am not thinking of giving up my stallion. Here is my question.......How many of you have owned a Lamborghini? Are they as much of a headache as I have heard? I have heard some real horror stories, like the Countach's motor leaks oil from the factory....man, I would be outraged if I spent that mauch on a new car and it leaked oil especially if I had a carpeted garage. I heard the Diablo's are much better, but a little steeper price. Just curious, anyone have any input?
