Stick a bigger, stronger magnet on the inside of the fender (if possible) behind the badge. The tape type magnet material isn't the strongest. DJ |

It does it everywhere on the whole car. Maybe it was repainted. I also have several coats of wax on it.... |

Ed you car has been repainted and probably bondoed. A good detailer will have a paint gauge and can measure the paint on your fender and see exactly where the bondo is.

Ed, just curious, but does it do the same on the opposite fender? |

Paul, I'm putting them in the "usual" spot on the front fenders.... I know magnets don't stick to aluminum..LOL.. It does seem like the paint is "thick" I was wondering if other people experienced this, since I've seen this magnet technique recommended a few times on this board. |

Ed, the magnets don't work on aluminum. Is that where you are trying to place them? |

Ed, There can be any number of reasons they don't stick too well. The most common would be either the car was repainted or the original factory primer/filler was put on a little thick to smooth out all those wavy panels. Either way, makes it hard for the magnet to stick through to the metal.... |

I have a set of magnetic shields and they don't stick very well to my car. Anyone else experience this? They stick well to my other cars. I haven't tried driving with them on, but I expect they will blow off. |

Originals are bolted on. Aftermarket enamel cloisenette ones are available with either the two bolts in the back, or with a flat surface with adhesive for glue-on. Stickers, or resin-coated, are available as either stick-on or magnetic.

If youare talking about the yellow Scudia shield, they come with a peel-away sticker on the back. Many people have peeled the backing and laid a thin magnet sheet on that side. At that point, you can trim the excess away. This works very nice. |

I think they are normally bolted on. |

Are they bolted on or glued on? |
