William, you don't think Enzo prices will hold...? It seems like the demand is very strong and doesn't appear to be dissipating any time soon... |

$30k markup for a car at that price is not high at all as compared to some other cars. |

Spoke to a dealer on Friday and he said that he could get me a Gallardo for ~$185k loaded (MSRP according to him), but that it'd be a year-long wait. If I wanted it _now_, he thinks it would be around $215k. He claimed that he has customers who are taking delivery at MSRP but, upon seeing the demand, are indeed willing to turn around re-sell them for $30k in pocket. Supply and demand it seems... |

I think it was a setup. For the first year ever they had a special room for Ferraris next to the auction area. They've never done that before. Still, it was an awesome afternoon with 5000 cars reportedly on site. And of course, in town they had the traditional Auburn Cord Duesenberg parade with hundreds of beautiful classics to ogle. A fine day indeed. |

The MSRP on the Gallardo is 165,900 and the dealer that I spoke with is charging that plus $1300 delivery. I wouldn't buy a 360 now since they still aren't down to prices in accordance with the MSRP levels. |

Must be a setup. They can be found for $1M USD... if you look hard enough sometimes for less :-) But a story like that makes good press and marketing propoganda. Enoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin PS: only exception may be if the Enzo was S/N #1 or something special in a certain way. $1.5M for a normal Enzo? No way.

In all the car mags that I get,and the recent stories about the lambo gallardo. They said that msrp would be around $150K,but saw one advertised for $209K. And,I am not sure, but isn't the "list price" for a 360 spyder around $179K ? And,you always see them advertised for around $250K.(new ones) So,is it just an automatic practice to get one of these new cars, then turn right around and tack on $50-$75K to the price, and try to sell it for a tidy profit? How many guys out there who knowingly, and willingly pay that, just to be the "first guy on the block" to have one? What about at resale time? Just wondering... |

I don't think it's a greedy moron but a set up. I'd be surprised to see someone pay that price even though the person has the funds to pay for one, even if I had the funds for one I would'nt do it because I'd hate to look like a sucker and I wouldn't like to take the thought of being profit over, not me, I can think of many other cars that I'd take in that price range. |

LOL, good one Jordan, I remember around 91 dumbazzes where paying $1M + for an F40, now you can get 3 for that price or 1 F40LM and 3/4 of an F40 road car |

Take a look at F40 prices now and project 10 years in the future to see how the Enzo will be selling. |

While stupid things do happen at auction, paying 557K for the first new Ford GT, I 'm skeptical that this was a real bid. A friend of mine just received his SECOND Enzo from Ferrari at MSRP. In Europe there are almost 20 Enzo's for sale asking 900KEuro. If you are a good customer and really want an Enzo I'd try my dealer. I think you may be happily surprized. |

Saturday at Auburn, a red Enzo went through and the bidding got to $1.5M and the seller turned it down. Personally I think it was a publicity stunt to get people to the auction. Maybe there were some employees in the audience bidding it up as well (I know there is a name for these people, but I can't remember). I counted 34 Ferraris there in all 3-328's, red 360 M, yellow 360 M, 456, 250 LM, 333, Mondial, 308, 550 M, 550 B, TR, 512 TR, Boxer, 348 S, 348 Ch, red 355 S, and many others. Awesome show!! |
