quote:what are the advantages (and disadvantages) of a coilover setup versus a conventional suspension setup?
Literally, all modern production Ferrari's are 'coil-over' spring/damper suspension. It is what is sounds like, a 'coil' (actually helical, coil springs are in watches) spring installed concentric with the shock absorber/ damper. The advantage is mainly packaging, but it also facilitates ride height adjustments if the body of the damper is threaded for the lower spring perch. I'm not familiar with this manufacturer, it closely resembles a Sachs damper. The lower spring perch with the spring winding into it allows the spring rate to be changed quickly, a feature OE on Porsche GT3-RS. When adjusting spring rate, the ride height must be compensated. Matt, if you have technical information such as force vs. velocity dynamometer data, schematic or cutaway drawing, I'd be interested. |

Looks like you have to rotate the spring in the perch to adjust hight. |

the external res. looks like it's got "showa" enscribed, does it? And, I can't tell from the photos, but are the sleeve threaded, or how else is the height adjusted; as the bottom perch looks fixed? How much additional sus. travel do these offer... that bumpstop looks like it can't move much, if at all. |

These look awesome! Are they generally available, and do they have offerings for other models? --Dan |

Pardon my ignorance, but what are the advantages (and disadvantages) of a coilover setup versus a conventional suspension setup? |

Those coilovers look amazing. I had no idea their were aftermarket vendors that made suspension products for the 360. Good Luck |

I can't wait to put this on my 360 on Friday. It's a 40 way adjustable titanium coilover. It can't weigh more than 4.5 lbs. and has a heat monitoring system for the tires depending on driving conditions. It also has 4.5 inches of height adjustment. |
