I like Andrews much better, Waynes looks like an AM Virage which resembles a huge Toyota

...yuck. Im sticking with the 456. I hope this isnt the first Ferrari design that I actually dont like. The Enzo came close but I tolerate it ok :-)

In an interview with a British car magazine, Autocar, Ken Okuyama, the designer said he was inspired by the Rosalini/Bergman Ferrari that was ordered by film director Rosalini for his lover Ingrid Bergman. It was a one off.

Solly, I agree with your analysis. I like the sketches too but I was told by a dealer that the 460 does NOT look like the sketches. Last month all the Ferrari dealers had the opportunity to see the new 460 in Italy. Maybe Sean Harris, if he has seen the car, could comment on the final look of the car.

I like the rendition Wayne posted. Super nice. I have never cared for the 456. The 550/575 is fine.

From the sketches, it looks like LWA's rendition is the correct one. I really dig it. These new Ferrari's are bringing back some of the classic styling clues of some of the older cars, like the 275GTB, the 250, and others. IMHO, it's a good step.

UGHHHH, The computer rendition is horrible compared to the sketches. The sketches show a smoothly rounded rear flowing into the rear quarter panels, and a low, wide front intake. They suggest a low-slung fast GT tourer. The computer picture shows a slab-sided rear quarter with no even flow around to the sides, a rear that looks like it is 8 feet off the ground, and a shortened more open front grill like a fish dying on dry land. looks like it needs braces. Also looks like the car is "squashed" from front to back.

I'd buy a car that looks like the sketches but wouldn't touch the computer rendition. And I've been waiting for this 4 seater for 2 years so i can take my kids along. I hope the finished product looks nothing like these renditions.

I think that looks good. I wouldn't mind toting my kids (when I eventually have kids) around in that. I wonder how much room the back seats have?

Hmm, I think I like the earlier sketches more. And, I like the 456 more (but the 456 is one of my favorite production car designs).

This rendition gives a good idea of what the finished product will look like:

The sketches released by the factory is the real 460. The test car is heavily disguised but underneath is the "sketch". Two friends who have put down deposits for the car have letters from Luca di saying that the car will look like the sketch. And they have been invited to view the car in the 3rd week of October at Maranello.
