YES!!! I would like to keep the Murcie but I decided to sell some cars cause I have to spend more than half of time in other country for coming few years. I feel sorry for my babies, you know. :-) I hope new Gallardos serve me well hehe.

My black spider just came back from replacing power stairing fuel hose. It was a BIG recall. More I drove, more power stairing oil leaked and it was smoking from engine room hehehe. Ferrari also rocks! :-)

Taek-ho, did Kathy contact you? :-)

Chris,

>>I really liked the carbon dash and tunnel on that car. Much better than the old car.<<

Luckily I have a carbon fiber company that can do all this work for me. If I had kept my Murcielago (tempted to buy one again) I'd have the thing "carboned out" by now. BLING BLING!! I'm going to be putting a deposit on a Gallardo and I'll definitely make carbon pieces for it. Maybe even a carbon body. :-)

Don't worry FChat police. This isn't advertising because I don't intend on selling. It's personal use. I have more business than I can handle from aerospace and marine use. Given the price of the components and how they are made it would be a waste of money and resources to make stuff for cars.

Cheers

Yup, metallic black Gallardo with 6 speed for me. I am not one for the f1/e gear type shifting.

I saw a Diablo GT today. Insane. The exhaust system made it sound amazing. I hope that someone makes a similar system for the Gallardo, although it sounds more like an Audi Sport car under full throttle than any other lambos I have heard.

Man, I have to say that the 6.0 Diablo is really a pretty nice car. They have on mounted sideways on the wall in the Lambo museum that is orange that is out of this world. I really liked the carbon dash and tunnel on that car. Much better than the old car. Murcielago is much more advanced and comfortable to drive.

Dan,

Tokyo and Osaka are pretty far apart. Not the type of distance you can just commute or transport your car. Unless you consider a few hundred miles an acceptable commute.

Not to be too off-topic, but yesterday I saw a marrone 6.0 SE (I was contemplating this same car!) with the square wing, and to be perfectly frank, this has to be THE lamborghini for me. I love the 6.0's dash, the marrone color is stunning, and that wing completes the picture, giving a square stance to the rounded edges.

Murci, step aside. The Gallardo is much more diablo, IMO.

Kicking myself for letting that SE go. Was going for like 240k with 276 miles too! Blargh!

Evo Magazine (current issue) rated the e-gear as
more appealing than the 6-speed manual. That is
a surprise. I personally like old style manual
cars. You choose a very nice looking interior.
Lamborghini will just about custom make any
interior you desire. Ali you have a beautiful house, and cars.

Taek-Ho,

It is the Giallo Orion and the 6 speed. Unlike most others I cannot stand that e-gear or F1 business. However, if I was on the track racing all the time then yes, give the the electronics.

Man this picture thing I discovered is fun.

One thing that makes the 575 better looking for no obvious reason is that the piping is just a shade different, the same light brown as the carpet. The interior is otherwise Crema.

I designed the garage with a 14 foot ceiling and moved the lift from my old house. See if this picture is viable--

Hey Ali,
Unbelievable, that is all I can say about the pictures. Is that a observatory in the top of the garage? I really like the 550 you used to have, it was beautiful. The 575, well that goes without saying!!! Thanks for the link to this site, it is great.

Stephen - the Murcielago is even better with your foot planted to the floor.
I drove one recently (again) and found the power INCREDIBLE.
One of my customer has a satellite GPS speedo as part of his radar detector and he said the GPS speedo was showing him 210mph!!
From 2750 the engine really starts working and that HUGE V12 just throws the POWER at the wheels. The only criticism is the weedy sound it makes (easily corrected - I would know because I have corrected it).

P.S. Ali Haas - your car is fab but your house is just AMAZING... nice pictures!

Ben,

I originally designed that as my telescope deck but it has some minimal vibration that makes it all but useless for that.

The picture of my wife behind the red 575 was enlarged and is hanging next to Michael Schumacher's ?sp. picture in Ferrari of central Florida.

The only problem with the Murcielago its the sound of the engine as it comes from the factory, its way too quiet. I heard a Murcielago with aftermarket headers and muffler and it is one of the best and most amazing sounds coming out of any supercar, even at idle

I see so many of the tan colored Murcielagos in Miami. The car is so stunning, and when you see it in a plain color it really looks cool.

I've seen yellow and red(quick glance) on the road, but still can't tell which color it looks best in? Lime Green and Orange, both in the show room... but on the road.. nothing looks more classy then the tan (sand) color.

I kind of like Lamborghini's clutterless interiors. All the necessary controls are there and it makes if very visually appealing. Lots of switches and buttons are OK, but just not my thing, unless we're talking classic cars or purpose built race cars :-) (love those analog switches).

Glad you like the Murcielago! I really like the car too. If you think it looks and feels great in the showroom, wait until you get it on an open road!

My wife and I just got back from Pebble Beach and the Italiano Concorso where we got our first exposure to the Murcielago. There is much more interior room for us tall folks and the fit and finish seem better than the Diablo we last contemplated. We also like the looks overall.

I talked to several Lamborghini mechanics and they all say these cars are better made and more reliable over the Diablo. The difference is not that big as the last versions were up there.

In any event, we just traded in our 550 for a 575 Maranello so the thought of buying another supercar seemed excessive.

We did it anyway, a yellow with the 2 tone saddle/black interior that is actually just available in the Gallardo. It should get here in December or January. Ordered from the Altanta Lambo dealer 2 weeks ago. 'Cannot wait!

Dan,

The Murcielago seems very refined...in a good way. The interior, though spartan compared to a luxury car, had a very high quality feel to it. Everything seemed very solid and well-built...kinda like my wife's VW Passat. The entire car seems very modern...very up-to-date. For me, it seems more Countach in looks than did the Diablo. That's a compliment. I've always thought the Diablo seemed, well, kind of plain. The Murcielago has a lot of in your face styling touches, from the retractable bat wings, to the huge, center-mounted twin exhuast, the engine seen through the black louvres (sp?), the seemingly oversized side-intakes, to the rear grate-like work, that it says either you're going to love me or hate me, but you can't say I don't look outlandish. Just like the Countach. In fact, if you look at a just-off-center front shot of the Murci, you can see the exact side countour shape of the Countach. Put simply, I think the Murcielago brings back that out-of-this-world, Darth Vader-like shape but with a new level of quality and engineering.

Make no mistake, Steve Barney is a nice guy and a Ferrari fan. The floor of the showroom is covered in prancing horse tiles! Looks pretty cool. Anyway, I'm just saying my attitude toward Lamborghini's has made a u-turn and is floored in the other direction. Nothing, though, will cause my Ferrari loyalty to falter!!!

I was in the Greensboro, NC area on business today and decided to drop by Sport Auto to look at the Ferrari's. While there, one of the owners pulled up in the stores recently acquired Murcielago. Guys, my buddy and I were speechless! That thing looks soooo much better in real life! Wow! I was able to sit in the drivers seat. At 6'2, I had plenty of headroom and the car was very comfortable. The interior was very well configured and had a high-quality feel. The overall build quality of the car was fantastic and was noticeably better than the Diablo's parked next to it. Unbelievable car! It made me a believer! You can see this very car at www.sportauto.us under the inventory section. It's the very first Lamborghini on the page and is painted in that awesome andromeda red. Once, again, WOW!!!
