James, Thanks for the info. By the way, a few years ago while I was student down in Miami I saw a 330 P4 running around Homestead. I think that there was a 360 Challenge practice session and a lot of guys had other cars there. I remember this car vividly and I have some photos. Was it by any chance yours? -Augustine |

>>The 250 GTO is very, very beautiful.<< Jim, I, or course, agree with you. If I owned a car company (and it ticks me off that I don't), I would make my designers meditate for hours on end just by looking at pictures of a 250 GTO. Sometimes, the planets align just so and somebody can create a masterpiece without even realizing what they have done. For example, a 1970 Triumph Bonneville is, IMNSHO, the most beautiful production motorcycle ever made. Did the Brits understand what they had done? Nope, because they changed it the next year, <sigh>. But the price difference between a 250 GTO and a production 275 has always amazed me. Not that I'm complaining. They say never say never, but it is highly unlikely that I will ever own a 250 GTO in this lifetime. Now, a nice sharknose, that's a real possibility. thx |

Tyson If that is correct and it may be he did indeed pay 10 million in 88. 88 was the top of the bubble. A 250GTO sold at about that time for 17+. Today IMHO this car would not bring 10 as 250GTO's are about at 9-10. But it is a very special car and I'm sure the owner bought it to keep for ever and really doesn't care. Someday it may very well sell for more than 10 but if it does IMHO 250 GTO's will be going for 20. |

I bought a 328gts in feb. '92 at shelton and I recall them showing me that one of a kind Ferrari and back then they said it was worth maybe 10 million, but those days are gone now. |

Augustine This is indeed a very special car. It is a 275 GTB Comp. with nice history but it is not a 250 GTO. I believe it did sell for 6500 in the 70ies. I saw a 250 GTO and a trailer sell for 6300 in the 60ies. Today this car would probably go for more than 1.5 because of it's history but it is no where close to 10. I'd guess 3-4. Andrew this may be the "65 GTO" Sheehan sold but there are no 65 GTO's. Dale I think it comes down to several things. Race results, (A 250 GTO did come in 1 OA at Sebring) beauty, and rarity. The 250 GTO is very, very beautiful. |

And yes there are much more 275 than 250's per type .. 36 GTOs 280'ish SWB Fewer TDF's Around 700 275 GTB's ( long ,short , 2 and 4 cams ) |

The 275 racing history cant be compared to the 250's be it TDF , GTO or SWB. |

Jim, just curious... Why aren't 275s multi-million dollar cars like the 250s? They were the last of the "drive-to-the-race-track" cars, but perhaps they were not as edgy as the 2050s? Or was the 275 motor not as successful on the track as the 250? Did Ferrari make too many, or is it just one of those things. Thanks in advance, Dale |

Sheehan sold a 65 GTO a few years ago for a little less than 2m$ i think ? How about the 312 P ? Peter Sachs and Bardinon's car ? How much are they worth ? |

It may not be worth $10 million but I'm pretty sure it's worth more than $1.5 million. Again, I'm going on what I was told by the keepers of the car. Very interesting car none the less. Was apparently owned by a University of Miami professor at one point and sold during the seventies for around $6,500 if I'm not mistaken. |

If it is a 275 GTB comp there are several of them and they go for 1.5 ish. 250LM's (sometimes miscalled 275 LM's) with huge history 3-4. The only F cars I know that have traded for 10 million + are several 250 GTO's and one 330P4. Anyone? |

James, I know we've never chatted together before, and I know that you know your stuff, but I think Ed B. might be right. I know the car that he speaks of. It's #24. Was raced at Le Mans and is at Shelton. Bud Root, a sales rep there, showed the car to me on my visit. It's featured in Cavallino and several other publications and books. I'll see if I can find out more. It does start out with 275 too. -Augustine |

Ed FYI there are no F cars worth 10 million that begin with 275. The ones that are worth 10 million begin with 250 or 330. |

the red enzo from FCF was released to the new owner last week. I saw him driving it north on I4. I was told the car will stay here and that the owner lives in New Symrna and works in Sanford so very likely you will see the car on road. BTW the car had been up at the dealership for about two weeks, one week on the floor and one in the back. |

The swap shop is in fort lauderdale. I was there a few weeks ago and the owners collection was on display in the lower level. I got directions from a salesman at Shelton Ferrari. The cars that were there were: Red Enzo Yellow F50 Red 550 Barchetta Yellow 360 Spyder Red 360 Modena Yellow Daytona Convertible that was a Sebring pace car White Testarossa from Magnum PI a yellow race car that the guy at Shelton told me was a 275 competizione (?) of some sort, that it was the only on in the world and that the value was cerca $10,000,000.00! It is definately worth the trip. He also has several porsche race cars including a 935 and one that won daytona. Fun stuff. ED
