I don't know much about how classic cars are valued but perhaps the autenticity of the parts are questionable and the fact that it was painted Ford red just show the owner has no clue of what the car should be. And perhaps the ownership list is not impressive enough. |

Does anyone know the deal with the 250 GT California that was in the RM Auction during Pebble this year? It was my understanding that 250 GT SWB Californias were going for $1.9 to $2.0 if they were show condition. I do know that the auto was painted Ford Red years ago. It is not a perfect auto, but still a great auto. Auto was owned by two or three Italians before the owner took possession in the states. He's had it 32 years. It was one of the last built and has original hardtop option. I think they were asking $1.6 million before the auction. I am wondering why the bidding only went to $1.3 million.
