A. The weight will come down and the hp will be more than you think. This is not the end either... |

Wow, didn't know the Ford GT was that heavy. That's impressive then to be that much quicker at the same weight. Give it a diet like the CS and it would be even faster. |

The Ford GT weighs roughly 3,200 lbs from what I have read. Remember a 360CS is 3.5 seconds quicker around Fiorano than a stock 360 Modena. I believe that the GT will be very quick but the next generation 360 will have its ticket. Nice to see FORD to well though. |

What kind of tires was the GT running at Laguna? How much faster is a 360CS than a 360 at Laguna? Ford has had problems getting the cobra engine to reliably produce 390hp, so it will be very interesting to see how it fares in the GT. Greg A

agree completely. ferrari should concentrate on dramatic improvements to ownership experience and maintenance requirements. performance is fine and only needs continual model year upgrades. real edge f has is in styling which it must maintain at all costs. supercar competition is great for us |

They'll either wise-up or they'll be following Pan Am, et. al., into oblivion. The older "tifosi" are eventually going to die off; it will be a new day as more younger(and demanding) consumers move into the market. I've said it before, no one ever thought Pan Am would go out of business (Polaroid/Xerox were once invincable, too--now look at them). Hopefully someone at Ferrari will realize this. |

I don't mind the retro styling as I always liked the GT40. 100 more HP and a supercharger really helps the GT. I wonder what sort of lap time a 360 would do with a supercharger installed? Cheaper service costs will favor the other marques. Ferrari/FNA better come up with a really good deal to keep customers who are fed up with outrageous parts pricing.

Chris, NGK makes an F40 plug in platinum for about $5.00. Those Champion plugs are not worth $0.89. You can get them from almost any motorcycle dealer. |

Good! Ferrari needs a little competition. I think it's great to see Ford mix it up with them too. I think VW is going to make things interesting as well. |

James sources are accurate. I was at Laguna Seca during the testing and was told the same thing. Reliable sources are quoting "significantly" more than 500 HP if it passes reliability testing. Yes indeed it is a new day! |

I'm sure 100 hp helps in lap times! I still think its a pity that the style is so completely retro. I think "if you haven't looked at ford lately" message is a recognition that most people have thought that Ford cars are crap for some time. My ford experience is hire-car land - The Explorer is a decent vehicle but the Taurus and Sable are amongst the most embarrasing modern vehicles produced. They may be cheap, but they're also awful. For nearly 2Bn invested Ford is betting a lot on the new F150. Reports are its as good as the Explorer, so things are looking up for Ford, now all they need to do is take on the Accord and Camry with a decent car... The New GT as I understand it from those in the trade is mostly going to loyal ford fleet buyers - those that have a fleet of F150s etc. I think this is a good way to treat customers. Its probably a well timed Halo car. I think it looks great, but I'd rather it had original styling. Its not going to tempt me away from F-car land, now an original Shelby GT-350 thats a Ford I'd like to add to the garage :-) |

Yes, I'm sure taking this thing in to the local Ford dealer service department will be an excellent experience. Ernesto. PS. If it is 5 seconds faster, then it is truly amazing. 5 secs is a lifetime on the track. |

I love the way the new Ford GT looks. But, they claim a 30k service on it will cost almost $400.00 . That's outrageous ! With that kind of high service cost will anyone be interested in buying one of the things....time will tell ? |

Reliable sources have told me the new Ford GT is 5 seconds a lap faster than a stock 360 at Luguna!!!!!! If this is correct it's a brand new day... |
