Jeff, that wasn't me, I spent the weekend driving my daughter around town, mostly in the little red Mini. I very rarely see Ferraris on the road in the DC area. This year I've seen a Barchetta, a 360 Spider and a Testarosa, and that's it for the entire summer. I know the cars are out there, I'll look for you around town. Jordan, thanks! |

Hey Will, Were you cruising down Rockville Pike on Sun afternoon? I was sitting at the light on Grosvenor Lane and the Pike and saw a 575 cruise by that looked just like yours. If it was, sweet ride!Congrats. |

Hi: My daughter and I met you and your wife at the old FOW store earlier this year. Would you send me an e-mail telling me about the silver 360? I'm curious....I fell in love with it and you got it before I could make an offer before....Thanks |

Congrats on the car, absolustely stunning. Regarding brake noise - I have squeaky brakes on a 98 550 with 13k (now!) on it. Going in for major soon, so we'll see if any changes do help / curb the issue. Oddly enough, the make less noise the warmer they are (?) in street capacity. --Dan |

Augustine, thank you for your kind words. My wife and I find ourselves tripping over each other to drive the Mini. It is amazingly responsive, and can be driven quite hard; properly beefed up with safety features, the Mini would be an interesting track car. I never would have guessed this little car could be both cute and an interesting drive. I assume that the illusion of power comes from the car's minimal weight, but I'll have to drive it onto a bathroom scale to test this theory. As for the squeal, well, at least at future Ferrari gatherings it will be easy to spot my fellow Maranello FHP drivers, off on their own yelling at each other and fiddling with their hearing aids. I am looking forward to the end of the run in period, I want to wake the car up and start using it. |

mikeg - are those the stock brakes or do you have the FHP brakes? my brakes were squeaky when i got the car (with 4K+ miles on it). after about 1000 - 1500 miles they finally have quieted down. standard, not FHP. doody. |

My 550(3900 miles) has brakes squeal so loud it is embarrassing. We all know that that is the way it is - but the average guy that is covering his ears at the stop sign when I show up thinks the car has major problems and I am an idiot for letting it get this way. (disclaimer - I very well may be an idiot for different reasons.) I dont feel like dropping cash as this time on different pads as there is plenty of life in mine. I may give out free ear plugs to my neighbors. |

Dr W, thank you for the exhaust advice. I'm going to wait a bit before making any change, but I suspect I'll end up making the change you suggest. My wife's nerves already have succumbed to the brake squeal. It's a tremendous squeal, louder than what I experienced when long ago I put very aggressive Performance Friction racing pads on a 911. So far, the only remedy has been either a very long, slow drift to a stop with very light braking, or a dramatic last minute threshhold let's get it over as quickly as possible stop. The dealer tells me the squeal should subside after about 1000 miles ... or I can switch to a softer pad. As for the real Will - I think there are at least: William Hart, registered 12/5/01 Willis Huang, registered 8/4/01 William H, registered 2/15/01 all of who seem very real, making me decidedly the new guy. I hope that Will 575, the guy with the '03 575, helps. Thank you all again for your warm comments! |

Ok, now it's official - we have too many Will H's!!! There's Will H the IP lawyer that used to have the 550 Barchetta; there's will H the recovering corporate lawyer who just got the 575M; and there's will h the 512TR driver who is in law school. Thus, it is decreed - each Will H will now have to get an entirely new username (and no use of Esq. or J.D.)!!! vty, --Dennis

Unfortunately, I deleted my shots of FoW's new shop. It's a large, new facility on a major surface street near the old location, situated near Volvo, BMW and other dealerships. The main show room is a large, airy, glassed in space with the Ferraris on one side and the Maseratis on the other. FoW now has lots of floor space to display the cars to advantage; a Barchetta holds center stage, with a 333SP hiding in one corner. They also have a very nice sitting area with plasma TV, library, drinks, etc. At the back of this area are sales offices and the parts department. Behind the main sales area is the first portion of the enormous shop space, eat off the floor new and clean, a LOT of very trick scissors lifts that open up from a flush to the floor position, a dyno, many other goodies, and of course lovely cars including the 250. Behind the main service shop is the FoW race shop, which during my visit held Challenge cars, the 360 GT and some other toys. I am sorry I do not have any photos, the new facility is really worth a visit, and I sense FoW is increasing its inventory of preowned cars, enhancing the fun. |

Will, You'd be happy with the Stebro straight pipe addition to the Tubi. I'll be interested in hearing how your nerves stand up with the brake squeeling from the F handling package. Beautiful color combo.I have 4k mi on mine in 4 mo with 2 trips coming up. |

Yes, the 575 is my first 12 cyl Ferrari. Exterior color is a metallic charcoal grey, options are carbon trim, Daytonas, Fiorano package, shields, 19" wheels and the hi-fi upgrade (which on reflection probably is silly, at least for me). The tubi is very quiet, surprisingly, its effect on the 575 seems quite different from its amplification of the 360 exhaust note. The Fiorano(?) brake squeal needs no amplification! Still early in the run-in period, perhaps I'll take a quick 500 mile drive. |

Will Would love to see inside photos of new FOW shop. You should be able to re-size the pictures by using the "Paint" program in Windows Accessories. Just open picture, under Edit click "Select All", then click Image and select "Stretch/Skew". Type in 50% for horitzonal and vertical which will reduce photo in half. |

Philip, yes it is one of Ralph Cs Minis, and my wife and I particularly enjoyed Ralph's test drive. We may even go back for the "8/10s" version. Agree with you that Ralph is a class act. Incidentally, I'm not Will Hart. Mr. Hart has seniority, and I'm afraid he'll claim identity theft if I don't speak up. Regards, Will |
