My favorite part is the buckle latch for the seatbelt. There is something about that 'click' you hear when you put your seatbelt on in a Ferrari. It tells your brain that you are about to hear an engine that will push you anywhere you want to go in style. It tells your brain you are secure in the world that you just sat in, the world in which you remember all of your drives and are thankful for everyday you are alive to appreciate what you have. |

The gap between the dash and the console on most of the V8 cars. Feels so much like it's there to facuilitate romance or something. Like even the airspace inside the car is special, and should be shared. Gated shifter of course. F355's 8500rpm red line, and 8750 fuel cutout. Classic Black/Tan dash on almost all cars. The feeling you get that just sitting here is really cool, and there's stuff to look at and love all over. The feeling that whoever was responsible for this car "got it" with regard to enjoying life. Best! Ben. |

The ashtray...I take a sort of sinister pride in knowing that I'm probably one of the few people (at least here in the US) that actually smoke while in my Ferraris. I would never encourage anyone to smoke (fairly stupid habit)...But if you already do, go ahead and try it in your car ---- you'll feel very Italian! LOL |

I LOVE the little switches behind the gearshifter in the 328/308/other older models... what exactly do these things do and control? |

Thanks, Wolfgang... Being that i don't have a Ferrari, i'll have to whore my answer from my experiences in other Ferraris... First, i love that it's not luxurious like some obscene MerceDES or Bentley; that i just barely fit in the seat, any seat! and that the lines in the interior are narrow... It gives me that real sports car feel... i love that i can't just get in a Ferrari like i can, other cars... That i need to face away from the car and slowly drop my ass into the seat and slowly turn and manuever my legs into the car... i love it when the windows roll down really slowly; it makes me think how unimportant up-and-down window speed was when they made this car... The move, the feel, the rush, the look, the passion, the lust were all so much more important than getting the window to go up quicker... i love the feeling a Ferrari interior gives me, that when i'm in one, i'm never thinking about having a cigarette or turning on the radio or fidgeting with windows or whatever; i'm in a Ferrari and part of me feels like a little kid and i'm so excited and so foggy, all at the same time... i love how i am to the ground... i love the fact that i don't know where the seat adjustments are, because i'm far too "into it" to worry about getting "comfortable"... i love the steely orb atop the shifter, denoting power and confidence in its sole purpose- to be grabbed and moved, shifted... i love the gate for the shifter, how it clicks and almost echoes in a tin-like way when shifts are executed... i love the simplicity of the interior... no fancy-shmancy cd players or plush leather with heated head rests and televisions and navigation systems and knobs and bells and whistles and on and on; even in the 550, the interior is elegant but simple... Just enough to please just about anyone without taking away from the fact that you're sitting in a Ferrari; i love how if you have absolutely no clue that you're in one when parked, once it's moving, you know all too well... i love the way the throaty growl of the engine (in rear-mounted engined cars) rasps at the window just inches behind your head, threatening to barge into the cockpit and commandeer my soul... i love the horn; beeping it, listening to it's high-pitched chirp as the engine rumbles and roars... Like a bird and a lion trying to sing together... i love how my eyes got watery just thinking about all the different Ferraris i've been in so i could write this... Damn, i love these cars. |

I have a 308 and would have to say the gauges do it for me. They are just all business. Love the gated shifter and the clicking sound it makes when you shift and of course the feel of the steering wheel in your hands. The steering wheel is the perfect size in my opinion. |

Tan, stitched leather EVERYWHERE. Even on the damned doorsills... Dash is vinyl though... Love the gate and black shifter ball. Hated the OEM steering wheel - replaced it with a Momo Corse - using the stock horn button of course... |

This may sound crazy but I have always liked the door handles. Sure the shifter and steering wheel look cool, but come on every ferrari I have ridden in 550,355,360,and 328 I always have trouble finding the door handle. They are like hidden on purpose and it is so cool. They just blend in with the interior. Even on the outside of the cars like the 355 and dinos with the little chrome lever. Erik |

It's just bad knowing the gated shifter is much more slower to shift into compared to an F-1 shifter so that part doesn't bring any desire to be fascinated over, I once removed the gate to see how it shifts and boy without it, it's crazy, try it and see how good you can shift without it. |

Agree with the Steering Wheel. Because of the Cavalino horn button that is in all Ferrari's. When I am in this car, looking at the steering wheel,I KNOW that I am piloting a genuine Ferrari ! |

IT's funny because everytime I run to a Ferrari at a show or park on the road, I always look inside to stare at the gated shifter. The worst thing is that I know they all are the same. It's just that thing to me that says FERRARI ! |

Sorry for hijacking this lovely thread: It was all about one particular P3 which has been reconfigured back to its original state and the owner is even racing it (sounds like you Jim). They talked about the P3/P4 history and the mingling in between (partial upgrades etc). They mentioned the three abreast victory and I was wondering which was your s/n. It might be mentioned in the article. |

The seating position. Just spot on and so comfortable. Don't care much for the old switches nor the gauges. I like them a lot better in the 328 with the red replacing the white. Each to his own I guess. |

I love the look of a shift gate. By just looking at it, I want to move a shift knob around in the anticipation of engine roar & moving the car flawlessly. (which I haven't accomplished) Then a steering wheel w/ a prancing horse on it...... What could be better than this? (maybe sexy, exotic girl w/ a prancing horse logo on........ Nahhhh!) |

MANY parts, though when the 1985 308GTS QV Euro arrived what made me smile was the CIGAR tray. It is made for cigars, not cigarettes :-) Fully enjoy the visuals of the mechanical adjusters to my right. No electronic buttons like on the 328, etc. Something about that old-styled "aircraft" look to it :-) Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin PS: dumped the ugly green plastic bit around the cigar lighter to the orange colored one. Also changed the emergency brake inner bulb to one of orange color. Green lights made NO sense in that car given tan interior.

Marcus, As soon as I saw this thread I knew I had to respond. My absolute favorite part of my cars interior is the steering wheel. I've lusted over the shape of the 328 (and 308 QV, 288 GTO, etc.) steering wheel since I was a kid. I collected any photo that I could find that depicted a 328 interior just so that I could see the steering wheel! Okay, I'm demented.

The reason I ask, I had one for a couple of days a few weeks back and one day I just sat in it for while and looked around and took it all in. I was in a 328 and I would have to say I like the gauges and the gated shifter. I really felt something special when I sat in the car a connection there I can't quite understand, but a feeling of wanting to always be around, in, and driving the car. Every thought of the day was of one of the 328, an excitement that would not disappear, and when I woke up there was an eagerness to hurry up, get ready and take her for a spin. Thought I would share my rare and unique experience in which I found a deeper love for what a Ferrari is about to a lot of you on F-chat. Sorry if this has been covered, but if you would like to share what your favorite part is of your interior or any Ferrari interior, it would be much appreciated. Forza Ferrari!
