What I find strange is the absense of their posting about this in this topic. What is that about? |

Of course it is a petty of those cars. But the question raised if you leave your car in a place without fire protection, made me wonder why not? I do not think every single garage has one (I mean the one at your home for instance) and even on the street it can catch fire. So, it is just a matter of insurance. My car (which luckily for me is an old non-F machine) got damaged several times (attempted break-ins, parking dents) whitout me knowing who did it. Pisses me a bit of, but hey it can happen and insurance can take care of that and everything is back to normal again soon. |

I am sure they are insured and even if not, they have deep pockets. Why would you go bananas over that. So your car burned to the ground....get me another one and I will drive that one.

No smoke/heat detectors or fire suppression systems in place? Seems strange that a place like Ferrari UK would not have a very advanced system in place. If I had a vehicle of that value, I would certainly question leaving it in a place with not security and no fire protection. Fact is, even without owning a car of that value, I question leaving mine in a place not fire protected. |

With that much expensive machinery on site, you'd kind of think they'd have security staff around at night who might have raised the alarm in time. Hope their insurance is up to date... |

hmmmm, anybody know what'll happen to the smoke damaged cars, a nice cheap slightly damaged F would be nice. pity this happened to the new service area, probabley the cleanest and largest F-car workshop outside of Italy.

Wayne I heard that about the 360's too, apparently the Gearboxes remained intact, a friend saw the Security camera video of of the fire, be interesting to get a copy! apparently it shows about 30 minutes of what happened before the smoke was too thick Jeff Fortunately the parts are in a different building about 500yds away |

According to an email I received recently, the two 360s were reduced to "little heaps of metal and plastic," yet the 288, F40, Enzo, Cal Spyder, etc. were only covered in soot. Apparently this happened a week or so ago, so I'm sure someone out there has more detailed information by now. As always, if there's anyone out there that can provide s/ns on the two 360s, please email me directly: [email protected] |

I'm most concerned about the GTO. 360s are in 'endless' supply, but not the 288. |

OMG! That is horrible news. Hopefully nobody was injured. I'm sure it was just an accident, even if 2 cars burned to the ground. It's a miracle that all of the cars didn't explode and burn to the ground! |

Below is info received 3rd hand so I apologise in advance for any errors/ omissions! It seems a battery charger was left on overnight on a 360, the battery exploded and caught fire then the car and another 360 leaving both ttally burnt out, I also understand a 288GTO was damaged on one side. A further 40+ cars were affected by smoke/ soot damage inc 2 x Enzo. Apparently the buildings structure was affected by the heat inc twisted roof girders

Fire at Ferrari UK Reports have reached us of a fire in the Service Department of Ferrari UK, with a number of cars being damaged. We have no further details at this time but Ferrari UK will let us have further information as soon as they can.
