Happy Birthday to your ownership. They are great cars. I had mine for 11 years. For the last years of owning it I also had the GTO style wheels.

DES, I am waiting for one of your essays about me, feel free to run with it

A comment I made to my wife after having the car for a couple weeks

If that Ferrari could cook, you're history

Good thing she does have a GOOD sense of humor

To fuel your fire, here some more shots:

At the local FCA Oakbrook event this June in good company of some more fellow FChatter cars:

June was a sad month. Here his tribute.

Also note the black seats with red trim. Reminds me of the Batmobile from the sixties TV show.

Well, the only story that comes to my mind is, that Bob is very shy of bad weather with his car. I met Bob last year and saw him posting on here, but never saw his car. I even met him a couple of times, but never saw his car. To me that 308 became an urban legend...Until I visited his home and sure enough the water shy 308 sat there in pristine condition in the garage.

There aren't more pictures, because of that water shyness. I have been wondering, whether this car is really red, or maybe has a different color underneath? Remember Cannonbal Run II, the opening scene with the white Lambo?

Oh and then there is the drive of all of us to visit a local hot rod show. As the ten Ferraris turn into the parking lot, jaws were dropping and the audience moved from the Corvettes over to the guest parking lot to take a look at the newly arrived "contestants". Well, we didn't crash the party otherwise and left the Imports class to the souped up Honda Civic. However Bob went to that same show some other night and took home the prize. His and Tod's 328 were the only Imports. Guess who won?

Back to you DES.

Andreas, thanks for jumping in; it's his two-year-anniversary-birthday-ownership thingie; there should be pictures and stories galore, all over the place... If all else fails, i'll just make up a story and Bob will be the star... :-)

Bob,
Congrats. It was too bad I didn't get a chance to meet you and see your car when I was in Chicago in July... hopefully, I'll get a chance before your 3rd anniversary rolls around! :-)

DES you got a very good point there. And if Bob doesn't get his act together by tomorrow, I'll have to jump in with some shots from the archive...

Happy birthday to your beauty! That car looks great and won already a prize. Terrific! Now in honor of the two years and the Ferrari Monza win, you gotta take her for a spin.

PS: I envy you for those wheels.

Sept. 14th 2003 marks the 2 year point as an owner. My buddies have finally stopped asking why I would want something so costly to repair, only 1 unexpected repair in 2 years and that was the alternator so not too bad. After I had purchased it and before it arrived I kept wondering if the dream would be better than the real thing and all I can say is I am very happy to be an owner. I still walk out to the garage just to look at my 308!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
