"There must be a little bit of you that likes Porsches a little bit ? "

I happen to like Porshe engines, chassis, suspensions, racing record, history, inovation,...

Now if they could ever style one that I would want to sit inside, we could talk. 911==dry, Boxter==wet behind the ears, Cayanne==come on. The only Porsches I would ever want to be inside are 917 short tails, and 962s.

I may have a surprise for you again Martin !

At least the Grezzeball / Montgomery or his
other egos will not show up again. I have
to admit that it was funny to read his posts.

sorry guys but I never liked them and yes it would be OT. The information is good though, the car just don't do anything to me.

But then we all realize how strange taste I have. Don't like F50s, 512BBs etc.

Martin - I care too. Perhaps your point was that this should be in "Off Topic." This is one of those gray area ones - a bit of a Ferrari tie in. Could go either way.

Martin, it's a cool car. It may be off-topic, but a lot of us care. Especially since the decision to allow or disallow one car can have implications for a ton of other cool cars.

FWIW -- There are some mistakes in that article. Also, the reason the 959 wasn't US legal was merely because they didn't want to provide ANOTHER car to be crash tested (the crasehd a few themselves, it passed with flying colors). The car did in fact h ave the option of CATS which made it 50 state legal, but it was moot. The truth is Porsche made this car for racing, it had sold the entire run, they didn't care whether or not the US had it.

The made an attempt to help the US market by making a 959S, but that too didn't get in.

Now you can get them in. I know... I have one.

what ferrari street cars over the years have been refused US entry?

i assume PAG simply refused to provide crash test cars? or did they know it wouldn't meet emissions?

I wonder how this law will applie to some Ferrari's out there?

I remember seeing a silver one of these, along with a BB512 and a 288GTO at Ferrari of Houston sometime in 1988 or so. Talk about your dream garage!
