nice picture of the 456!! but a 'bad' car in my oppinion some more info about the 'Pinin': When Porsche was talking of developing a four-door 928, Pininfarina responded with the Pinin, a four-door Ferrari prototype. The engine was the Testarossa flat-12, used for a lower hoodline. When Porsche dropped their plans, Ferrari discontinued development of the Pinin. info from the book 'Ferrari Pininfarina' 1952-1996, edited by Wallace A. Wyss -- www.forzarossa.nl -- |

you are right... 4 doors.. plus the fifth hatch-back... done for our friend the Sultan of Brunei..
i've always wondered.. does Ferrari recognize these things as special one-offs or are they simply done because someone footed the (large) bill... and are seen in the same light as Daytonas that "became" spiders later? GT |

Weren't there some 456 Venice 4-door sedans? Anyone have any pictures? I believe I've seen one of the 456 wagon, but not the sedan. |

Ferrarissima #23 had a nice spread on this... http://www.ferraricentral.net/FerrarissimaDetail.asp?offset=10&ProductID=21023 i kinda like the design myself... perhaps not as a Ferrari.. but as an automobile on its own... doesnt really fit too many ongoing F-themes - the egg-crate grill is there but as a whole... no. Not that ANY 4-door Ferrari really would... suprised Pininfarina even ventured it.. I wonder what Enzo said when he saw it or if it had his approval to begin with... would've LOVED to be the proberbial fly on the wall when it was brought up... GT |

Dr. Erik, I hope you don't mean me. I was just having a little fun with this one. I have known of the Ferrari Pinin concept for many years. I chose not to mention it in the first place because the original question asked "what years?", and by this I assumed that bubba meant a production model. I am truly an enthusiast and anyone who knows me personally will attest to this. Warm Regards, Augustine |

Laugh all you want, but it is one of Pinifarina's favorite designs of all time. Its in Jacques Swatter's collection. Its a shame that a lot of owners (and wannabe owners) don't know squat about the marque. |
