Since FOC is not doing anything in the Midwest, I haven't had a chance to enjoy much of that membership. But there is IMHO one good thing: They publish the bi annual members book and I think that is kinda cool. It's like a Who's who of the F world.

Isn't this funny I got my FOC renewal in the mail today, it didn't even make into the house as I stopped at my garbage can by the garage and put it where it belonged. Unfortunately they don't pick up the trash till next Tuesday morning, gosh I hope the racoons don't get a hold of it as it will make them sick as hell.

WE really need just one club, there aren't enough of us to divide us up. Having said that, the FCA is the dominant club in Northern California. I don't know about the other areas however.

I vote for no elections! But don't quote me on that!
Glad you liked the photo, you'll notice in Texas two hands counts as two votes!!!

Go Prodrive! You guys make us proud!!

For track in our region there are non-f-car clubs you can join and get actual track time at cost. FCA has two track events per year in our region. Sebring (spring) and Moroso (Nov).
They also have a great party at JMB Racing this Friday eve.

As far as FOC they have cancelled all their track dates this year. The only one they had was in Moroso and attendance was poor to say the least.

Since you met already soem of the Squids I can offer you to come onto our e-mail list and be updated on what is going on. We are a non-club, so there is no president hence no election. If you want to show feel free to do so, if not, no big deal.

e-mail me. We have some great things going on the next week. Cheap and something that none of the clubs can provide. 1 on 1 with drivers, team owners and garage visits at Prodrive and Olive Garden. Dinner with the team on two days.

Oh, did I mention there are harsh feelings between some FCA and FOC members due to politics?
:-)

Personally I signed up with both clubs and have their name tags in my car. Just in case to be ready for either event. But showing up with a FCA tag at a FOC event might be dangerous...

Alan (below) brings up a good question about elections. In Florida there is none. Its a dictatorship.

Ken, don't waste your time and registration fee for the FOC especially here is Florida. Unfortunately, to join Florida you also have to join the national group. Same as the FCA. I can explain firsthand. I was a regional member and board member for 2 years. Don't waste your $$$. Others in Florida can attest.

Being in Florida you're fortunate that both clubs are active. If you were in New York the choice would be more difficult.

Considering the amount of cars and owners in NY one would expect more activities than there are.

FOC does not require ownership, or at least they didn't when I joined 5 years ago, I have since changed to FCA because of activity. FOC is very active in Southern California and I think in Florida. FCA seems to have more active regions.

FOC requires ownership of a Ferrari; FCA doesn't. Depending on where you live either club is strong. E.g. in the Midwest the FOC is basically non existent, whereas FCA is very strong. But in other regions, it is different. Worldwide there is of course only FOC (e.g. in Europe).

I am a new Ferrari owner and want to get involved with the Ferrari communmity. What is the difference between these two groups? Looking for a little direction on this.

Thanks
