The Vanquish has one the best sounding engines.

Vanquishes remind me of sharks in their exterior styling. They are soo very sexy and aggressive.

You can stand near it and just listen to it. A friend went on an extended test drive about 8 months ago for the better part of an afternoon and came by to show it to me. People in the neighborhood were coming out or staring at it. It doesn't disguise the fact its a beast!!

I havent personally seen a Vanquish one on one yet, let alone heard the exhaust in person, but, I DID go see the movie 'The Italian Job', in which they had a very nice Vanquish, and the exhaust sounded amazing. I know the camera audio doesnt do it any justice, but it still sounded awesome. The car is very beautful, and the interior looks spectacular. The new Bently Continental GT looks quite similar, also a very cool lookin car with impressive power.

Stephen,

You're right about that exhaust. Sounds a LOT better than the Maranello. Styling is purely up to the individual (I prefer the Vanquish exterior, but like the Maranello's interior). I would give the nod to the Maranello because you can shift your own gears. Vanquish had paddle shift only. Has the same funky sound as the Ferraris when the tranny readies itself. Salesman in Ferrari dealership told me it was the same tranny (?).

I liked the drive of the Vanquish better, but that was a comparison with a 550, not a 575. I've never driven a 575. The 550 was 6 speed so more fun, but the Vanquish just felt better for highway blasting.

I only had limited seat time. 45 min each. So no long term impressions. I admit I was a bit too excited to develop any serious comparisons.

Oh, can you believe they deleted the machine guns and missiles? What a rip off. That James Bond is full of crap!

Cheers

When I was visiting Ferrari of Atlanta (also an Aston Martin dealer) last year, they had just received a Vanquish. Unbelievable car! Absolutely gorgeous, and one that, when compared to the 550 in the next room, seemed to me to be so much more handsome! Steve, the manager, told me to stand behind the car when he started it. Amazingly deep growl/rumble! In my humblest of opinions, something about the Vanquish's style seems much more proportional than that of the 550/575. Don't get me wrong the F-car is a beauty, but for me, the Vanquish has a very intimidating, very maculine look that is quite impressive. Given the choice, I would have to go with the Brits on this one!

My fault. Thought he was looking at pre-owned.

NOt true. 575 and Vanquish each about $250K. 550 is cheaper at $100K+.

Pretty big price spread between the Vanquish and the 550 or 575.

I have a client that has a Vanquish, and it is very impressive in person. After seeing the two cars in person it would be a tuff choice, so you would have to drive all three :-) and take me with you when you go shopping.
