Cool, but also a shame at how Ferrari is diluting their brand by selling trademark licensing rights to everyone.

I just saw this pics & sight yesterday as my friend forwarded me info. Amazing how fast you guys get news!

Did you see the pic of a lense closed? It looks cooler.
You can see more details at <http://www.olympus.co.jp/jp/news/2003b/nr030917ferraj.html>.

Ordering can be taken from 10/10 at authorized Olympus dealer, or based on my friend, you can order on-line. 10,000 production, but 1,000 pcs available in Japan, and I don't know how the rest of 9,000 will be allocated.

Brian, it's water-proof under daily life condition like rain, pool side, and skiing. If you drop it in water, it's dead!

Tako, are you buying one? Did you know if the reservation was made for more than 1,000, it will be lottery? I'm debating whether buy now in Japan or wait for US version.

P.S.
I read that they made special painting procedure and coating for this model... that's why it's expensive...

From the looks of it, I would guess its a Stylus 400 with a great paint job. If so, its 4 Megapixel and 3X optical. The lens is a bit slow, but I might be willing to overlook that. It is waterproof, which can be very nice.

Wow - looks great. Thanks for the heads up Shawn! Does anyone know the specs? I couldn't find them. How many megapixels?

How much is the 30,000 picture major. :-)

80,000 Yen = 689.72 US $ at today's exchange rate.
There's 10,000 available.
If all were sold at this rate, $6,897,200.00 stands to be ka-chinged at the register, virtual and otherwise.
