Original "Servizio Assistenza" Ferrari sign that Chris Parr picked out for me. It hangs in my garage. I was at Concorso Italiano for 5 minutes when Chris drags me over to Paolo Tron's booth.

"Hey Patterson, buy this..."
"OK, what is it???"
"Don't worry, you need it for your garage!!!"

He was right, though. It is very cool.

I have a few models, flags, books, and Ferrari aftershave. My favorite item is my Ferrari assembly line mechanics shirt that I bought at the Laguna Seca historics last year.

My mate has an awesome collection of everthing. He's got models of every Ferrari, F1 mechanics shirts, every press kit since the Dino, heaps of other trinkets as well. His best gear though is the signed gloves given to him by Jean Alesi and the signed suit from Mika Hakkinen. the Lucky scumbag got a guided tour of the pits by Alan Jones at the final Adelaide GP. But he doesn't have the Enzo letter or Whart's specail jar

Ok...I didn't scroll down far enough...my mistake. You guys are talking about Jerry Englebert, I was referring to Englebert Humperdink. Two completely different Engleberts! If there was any confusion...I apologize. I beginning to think that "not only is Englebert famous in the music business, damn, he was a Ferrari guy also!..."

Not Ferrari related...but when I was in college, during the summers I'd work on South Bass Island located off the southern Lake Erie coast. Anyway, I was a hotel night desk manager and one weekend, Englebert, his wife and son came on over to the island for the Saturday. On the way out of the hotel, Englebert asked if I could "watch over" his son..."Sure!" I said. Later that night (midnight), he and his wife return to the hotel with several bottles of wine. We sat out on the front porch of the hotel till 3ish drinking wine, getting drunk, and talking all kinds of cool stuff. As he and his wife went upstairs, he slipped me a $50 and said "thanks". Probably one of the best nights of my college summers.

Nika and Jack, are you talking about "Autosport Collectibles" in Markham?

I have over 50 1/18 scale models all Ferraris, Ferrari Barbies, Ferrari Cologne (red and black) a Schedoni leather card holder/note book and several stamps from Italy and Canada featuring Ferraris. But I have to say that my favorite is my wedding pictures around the Ferrari.

Jack, that is too cool that you have a letter to Englebert as well! How random is that??

I'm finding that some of the letters Enzo wrote, depending on the content are EXTREMELY valuable. I like hearing that!

Hey, Ferrarijoe: i'm glad i finally got a rise out of somebody. I don't know. Look, i have the collector's gene, and have had it all my life; grew up with a kid who saved all the original packing for his hi-fi equipment, and bought a 2002tii to store in a cave, just to have one as part of his collection. But somehow, the obsession with these scraps makes me laugh, even though i understand it, and the meaning of historical artifacts.Nonetheless, that's the first thing i thought of, and i remembered the movie "They Saved Hitler's Brain" (also, an Angry Samoan's album from the early '80s had a track called "They Saved Hitler's Cock.") Go figure.

My friend JP in Toronto has an F1 Memorabilia business, with a lot of unique items. It's worth taking a look at his site if anyone is interested. The address is www.autosport.net. His stuff isn't junk, and he gets it all personally. Most of the Ferrari items he acquired directly from the factory.

I have a bunch of things related mostly to Ferrari F1 and the TR. My favorite is a 4' high by 2' wide lighted Cavallino sign that I made a few years ago. I place it in my front living room window facing outward during a F1 weekend.

Hey Whart, what made you buy that?

I have an Enzo letter also. It's from February 6, 1956, and looking at it again, it also appears to be addressed to Mr. Englebert! It's on the Ferrari letterhead, and while it hasn't been translated, it appears to describe some racing results from the Argentine Grand Prix, Buenos Aires 1000km, and Grand Prix of Mendoza. Signed in purple, natch. Pretty cool.

Other than that, I have a race-used, signed Gilles Villeneuve visor. I have always been a huge GV fan as well.

I agree, Fred Repass is quite a gentleman and has the most incredible Ferrari literture collection I've ever seen. I would recommend any of you to call Fred for some awesome Ferrari items.

I know Nika has a great collection, I love that big yellow Daytona model you have.

I have so much Ferrari memorabilia; toys, postage stamps, magazines, books, posters and on and on..
But I think my favorite items I have is two posters/calendars issued by Ferrari in the early 90s. One of them pictures details of a yellow dino and an embossed dino logo with foil stamping on heavy stock paper. the other is the same concept but of a black Daytona and embossed Ferrari logo with foil stamping. They are very impressive and I have never found a place worthy to hang them so they are still in the poster tube every 2 or 3 years I take them out and look at them. I think this was a set of 3, but I only have the first 2. I also have a beautiful full color poster put out in 1997 to comemorate the 50 year colaboration of Pirelli and Ferrari it pictures a very nice cutaway of a 1947 Ferrari 125S this hangs in my office.

I am a crazed Ferrari memorabilia collector. I collect anything Ferrari. I have about 200 Ferrari brochures, including some from the 50s, a full set of Cavallinos, emblems, hundreds of Ferrari lithographs, a set of 3 eared knock offs, steering wheels, a 3 foot tall bronze painted cavallino made by the factory in the early 80s for dealerships. I can go on...its truly a sickness I have. ANYWAY,

The star of my collection is my beloved Enzo signed letter. The letter is dated May 8 1949 on Enzos letterhead, sent to Jerry Englebert...the tire guy! The letter was translated by someone at Ferrari North America. Enzo tells Jerry about the new Formula 2 Ferraris, tells Jerry to be prepared to coordinate with Luigi Chinetti and make tires to his specs for each particular race in late 1949 and 1950. The letter is 2 pages, typed and signed by Enzo in his purple ink. Unreal. What makes this letter unique and even more valuable, during Enzo's final proofreading of the letter, he found a typographical mistake, which he corrected in the purple ink!! He must have found the typo either right before, or right after he signed it. I assume if he had the time, or patience, he would have had it re-typed. How cool is that???

OK, tell me what cool Ferrari things you have, and any intersting stories that accompany them!
