Yep, the black horsey key is cool, available for the old 308's as well. Dave is right about the cutting process. I took mine to my household locksmith, I told him it was steel...no problem, just a slower cutting procedure.

William, order the F40 ignition key blank, it has a black plastic end with a metal horsy imbedded in it..very pretty, around $50 or so. It is a steel blank, so not a lot of shops want to cut it, as it will be hard on their cutter.

be careful when you get your blank cut. they're weirder keys than most locksmiths are used to. i'd take it to a serious locksmith store - not to the key-guy at sears, home depot, or your local hardware store. i took one to a local locksmith who i was told was an idiot. he screwed up the cut - the key flipped out of the machine while he was working on it - not tight enough, wrong machine - whatever. you know how much the damn blanks cost. he wouldn't start cutting it until i agreed with him that he wouldn't guarantee a working result. i should have walked of course, live and learn.

doody.

You might try either www.sodacoms.com (F-Chat sponsor) or www.italiancarparts.com

I purchased a spare set for the 308 from Ital. Car Parts -- the ones with the black handle and chrome cavallino (one for the doors/ignition and one for the fuel door).

I purchased a set for the TR from www.foreigncarsitalia.com -- the original Ferrari items with folding key handle.

Hope this helps....

Anyone know of a place to get some nice Ferrari key blanks for my 1986 328? I would like an extra set for the door and ign. but would enjoy something with the logo on it. My current ones are vey plain. Thanks in advance if you have suggestions.
