I agree with you guys,Rob and Doody. I first joined the FOC,only to find out that there wasn't a "local" chapter in my area (Chicago). So,for my one hundred and something dollar membership,I got a copy of the Pilota magazine, which is very cool, every month. But,the problem was,the magazine ALWAYS came a month late! So,I got to read about all these cool events,AFTER they happened. And,even if I did want to travel to the west coast and attend one of these drives or meets,I would never know about them until it was too late. Had a feeling that no one there really cared. So,I joined the local FCA branch in my area ,which is pretty active. And,attended some cool shows, and met some great fellow Ferrari owners, too. Also,FCA has a fantastic website. Lots of good technical stuff to be found there, too. And,their technical advisor,Mr.Bill Badurski really knows his stuff about Ferrari's.

Pick whichever club is active in your area, sometimes both. Sometimes neither. FerrariChat.com groups are more in active in some areas than these clubs. Several years ago I joined FOC Texas as FCA wasn't active in Texas, then FOC fell apart here and FCA took off. I'm now the FCA DFW President and we have 20 events or so a year.

Other consideration is if you do national events. You'll need to have a FCA membership to do the FCA nationals, like in Monterey next year.

check the archives.

it comes down to geography.

only one may be truly active in your geography. here in the boston area FOC is largely non-existent, while FCA is healthily active.

i joined both and then dropped FOC.

doody.
