I wouldnt buy a mondial that is anything less than what you want. These cars are not in short supply. You should not run into that much trouble finding exactly what your looking for if your willing to travel a little. I guess you know you will pay more for red, but I would be more concerned about the miles. The mondial is one of the most reliable cars ferrari made, but the repairs can still be expensive on the ones that have been around the block a few times. The T is great if you've got the extra cash, but I love my 3.2 cab just fine! |

The prices are ALL over the board. I found a 1983 Mondy Cab with close to 60k on it for $23k or best offer....then I found a concours winning 3.2 in red for close to $46k! I also ran across a 90 Mondy t Cab that needs a clutch and a 30k major for $36k. It is difficult to nail down a value of the cars until eyes are put on the car, service history ect.. I am finding that the QVS can be had under $30k, the 3.2 for around $32-$37k and the t models all the way up to $65,000 for a 0 mile 93 model. |

I can vouch for Andy's. It's a beauty. Amazing the leg room in those things. My next Ferrari will be a Mondial T cab, red/tan, unless Andy sells me his first. |

I have a '84 Mondial Cabriolet: rossa corsa, tan interior, with new black top. Has aprox. 31,200 miles, and has had a recent major service, new clutch, water pump, etc. Car has books, tools, and service records. I also have factory service manual, sales brochures, 2nd set of wheels available also.Car runs, drives, and looks beautiful. Car has won a national award, and i can count the number of times that it has even seen a rain drop in the past (7)years. I had the opportunity to drive a friend's 3.2 Cab,nice car, but I couldn't see any noticable power difference vs my car. If you want a nice Mondial cab, this is it. |

Hi Mitchel, I'm interested in a Mondial cab myself (still future tense, however) but I've done a bit of research on all three cabs: the QV, 3.2, and t. My first experience driving one was a red over tan QV. It was a very nice ride but when I had the opportunity to drive a 3.2, the 3.2 was the winner in my book. I don't really have any quantitative data to support that, just my personal preferences. Bumper styling, instrument cluster housing style, wheel styles, etc. etc. FYI- The first QV that I drove is still for sale quite a while later. No connections to the dealership but it is a nice QV. http://www.executiveauto.com [you can click on listing for more photos of the QV cab] 83 Ferrari Mondial Cabriolet 28,000 miles 30K Service Done! $27,950 Andy's car sounds great. I'm not quite in the position to purchase a 3.2 cab yet myself (Waiting for that last duck to get into the row). Oh, and regarding the t, I understand all of the technical advantages of the t over the 3.2 and the QV but the rear intakes strakes kill the whole thing on the t for me. I think the trapezoidal QV and 3.2 intakes are awesome. Cheers and good luck. Mike |

Hmmm, sounds like a really good car Andy. I hear you about those lovely 456s. My dad just wants a real Ferrari convertible in red! I don't blame the man! I am actually responsible for this love of the cars! |

What do you think my '88 red/tan 3.2 Mondial Cab is worth? Bought it a year ago with 18,000 miles on it. Immediately did a major service w/ all new belts and hoses and fluids, rebuilt water pump, repainted wheels, new Bridgestone RE730's. Drove it about 1000 miles over six months and put a new clutch in it this spring. Also, again, changed the anti-freeze, oil/filter and had it aligned to factory specs. It has a new Optima orange top battery. As of this evening it's really close to 20,000 miles and runs great. Always starts on first try and idles smoothly at 1100 RPM. Exhaust note is unbelievable on stock exhaust. Leather is nice but has probably been redyed in spots on the driver's seat. Conv. top is very nice, but has one VERY tiny hole where the mechanism creased it. The headliner is nice, but could use a little TLC where the straps meet the crossbars. Top latches are new. ALL ELECTRICALS work (really, every light and switch) and it blows cold (and warm) air. Stereo is a Blaupunkt Berlin AM/FM/Cass. Paint is a 9/10 with small swirls in a few places, a few rock chips, and there's an area very low on the airdam with a little resprayed paintwork. I only noticed it when the car was on the lift. There is one ding in the front right fender. About an inch long and I've just decided to leave it there. Not wanting to jinx the car I guess... Waxed the car this summer with Zymol Carbon and it's really gorgeous. I've added a Momo Course steering wheel, but still have the original - which is in great shape. The rest of the car is stock. Has a spare wheel/tire and the tool kit. Also have the original owner's manual, leather pouch and paperwork. Sold new at LFSC in Chicago. All in all, not a concours car, but VERY nice for a weekend warrior. Not sure what the car's history is like, but I have taken ridiculously good care of it. Always warming it up before revving it and never to the red. It hasn't seen a drop of rain under my care. Car fax showed a fairly linear progression of miles with seven owners over the first 14 years. The last owner had it 5 years and 5000 miles (also in TN). Couldn't document a service history, but truthfully I didn't try very hard because I figure I'll fix any problems that surface. I'm not really trying to sell the car. Truthfully it would be hard for me to part with it as it is completely "sorted out" as they say. Guess I'm just dreaming of a V12 if the 456's keep dropping in price. I need 4 seats... More curious as to what it might be worth and how other Mondial Cabs compare shape-wise. |

Hey Martin, I have looked at the ones in FML. I tried to persuade Dad into a non red, but he is standfast on RED. I found a super nice one in New York, but the owner is about $5k too high. |

Mitchel, check FML. I can offer you my password so you can browse Dang, I have a black on red but not red on black. Good car though, QV and in great shape, cheap too: $ 25K asking and I know you can get him to $ 21K. Might want to consider non-red

Mitchel, Park Place motors in Dallas, TX has one that I looked at - 3.2 Cab 26k miles, will need a major in about 1.5 years and they are asking way too much (which is why I did not buy), but you might check it out if they still have it. |

Hi everyone, finally my poppa is coming around. He sees how much fun I have in my Ferrari and he wants one now. I sold his XJS Jaguar and are now in the market for a Mondial Cabriolet. We are looking for a QV or a 3.2 that has been serviced and it MUST BE RED!!! Interior color not important, as it will be either tan, cream or black. He actually prefers the looks of the QV, but also likes the 3.2. Mileage is not very important, condition and maintenance history IS important. Please let me know what you have. Thank you all for your time. Wish me luck! |
