All the Euro CARBED GTB`s are dry sumped, up to and including 1980. The GTS`S are always wet sumped, also the Euro versions.

I think only the earliest Euro 308s were dry sump.

348,355 and 360's are all dry sumped, i'm sure the F40, F50 and Enzo would be too.

I beleive most of the 308's were as well? but the 328 was wet sump, presumably they found an adequate way to baffle the sump to prevent surge

"Was wandering what are the advantages and disadvantages of a dry sump oil system."

Advantages:
Engine sit lower in car->lower center of gravity
Engine is not starved for oil in long high G-force corners
Engine makes more power from lower crankcase pressure
oil cooler attached to sump->cooler oil->better lubrication
Oil is de-aireated->better lubrication
More oil->better tollerance for high load operation

Disadvanteges:
2 oil pumps
more oil->cost to change

The Mondial t is the first car that I have owned that has a dry sump oil system. Was going to change the oil soon. Was surprised to read that it takes something like 3 or 5 gallons of oil (do not have the manual with me).

Was wandering what are the advantages and disadvantages of a dry sump oil system.

Also do later cars like the 355 and 360 have dry sump?

How about the 40, 50, or Enzo?

I was wandering if the dry sump gives better cooling of the engine or a larger reserve for endurance racing.
