I've seen several references to the Ferrari Market Letter which claims there are approx 100 Euro 308s in North America. What's your feeling for that, high, low, about right? | ||

Tommy i had an interest in the production # also. Mine is a 1980 gtsi the first year they went to injection. would be nice to know how many they built that year. I wonder who has the first injected 308. | ||

Cool idea, Tommy. I had once a similar idea, kinda like "DIY on 308 for Dummies". Not that I'm an expert (far from it), but have learned a few things. If you ever want to write that book, let me know and I'll add a couple of chapters and fotos. Seriously. | ||

I have been working on a detailed listing of all the 308 inj cars (serial numbers, body type, color, etc.) for a couple of years. My list starts with the first inj car and ends with the last 308 QV. I'll pull it and see what I have in the QV volume for you. I am toying with the idea of writing a book in which I can include the serial # stuff in. I got the idea last summer when I happened on a book about "101 things to do with your Porsche 911" I thought it would be cool to do one on the 308 series since I have done so many easy modifications to mine. I don't mean things like rebuilding the motor to 300+ hp. I mean little weekend projects like CD/Amp location/installation, headlight mods, etc. Right now she is up on jack stands at home getting the coolest oil cooler fan. I am almost done and I can't wait to post the details. My efforts to write a book on all this is only for the cult following I may get at Ferrari functions, not the money (not enough 308's out there unlike 911's) Maybe one day. | ||

Andreas, I am also trying to compile as much info about the QVs for Wades site. It would be very interesting to know how the colors break down. | ||

I am working diligently on getting this info out of Ferrari, it is a tedious task. I do have all of the production numbers on my site. As for a break down of colors I will not have that until I have the completed lists I have asked for from Ferrari. I do know that the US makes up for about 35% of production. Does anybody have more detailed production numbers about the 308 QV? How many were built for the US, how many GTS vs GTB, how many in e.g. red or blue, how many with black interior vs tan? Wade? Any details are appreciated. |
