Heh, no way on the hats guys. I was approached by more thatn one person in the indiannapolis airport who wanted to buy the one I was wearing. That signature is like a beacon to those who know what it is (and that is surprisingly few).

I think I will keep them.

I was going to tell that part of my story.
I had on the team uniform that was one year old,
when the team switched from blood red to the current color, closer to orange. So it wasn't apparent until I was standing side by side that we didn't match.

I was surrounded by the mechanics as the international TV feed was broadcasting the Jean Todt post race interview. They were muttering in Italian and pointing to my jacket. Then a HUGE crewman told me in halting English that my Marlboro logos were showing. Had that shown on TV they would have been in violation of the federal tobacco settlement.

I was worried they were going to just throw me back over a 10' cyclone fence, when the mechanic shouted orders to another. They returned with precut white squares of tape they had used on their own uniforms. After covering the front, both shoulders and back of my coat, they stepped back, admired their handywork, and told me:

"Now you can stay with us!"

People were trying to buy the coat off my back as I left thru the Indianapolis airport.

My father passed away from lung cancer five years ago. I've never taken my "Factory duct tape" off.
It remains on the coat to this day.

Wow, the control desk is actually carbon fiber? And I'd hate to be the guy who has to switch out all the scuderia badges with the non-smoking version--there must be dozens of those things!

Good work bro! I made it into the team area after the first USAGP win. Jean Todt and Rubins both signed my program, but Schumi was behind the glass! Didn't have my camera! Drank some champagne with the crew.

Got a signed Schumi hat later on from Marie at JMJ Automobilia!

Thanks again for sharing.

Let's just say I know some people. ;-)

Actaully, my wife runs the hospitality for Marlboro Team Penske, so she had to go to the USGP to make sure that the Philip Morris VIPs got the right treatment, naturally, I got to go along.

It's good to be the king. ;-)

I put them together on a little web page to save the hassle of uploading them in a small format to ferrarichat. This way, you can see the big version (and all the detail within)if you wish.

I didn't take any pictures of the race itself, as those are fairly commom. I did take some pictures that you won't see anywhere else though.

Enjoy!
