While I agree with Martin, I do think that the dealer is charging too much for the PPI. I had Shelton Ferrari do a PPI on a 550 2 months ago for only ~$500 (including the compression test). |

Dr. I, Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish.Chances are the engine is fine but before spending big money for any exotic get the ppi and compression test.It's worth the $830 for peace of mind and to avoid a potential expensive disaster.Just add it to the price of the car! |

I am considering making an offer on a 550 maranello in the chicago area. Car has less than 5000 miles...would be interested if someone can check it out for me. Dealer PPI is $540 + 290 for the compression test. That is steep..and I don't think necessary for a 2000 model with service records. Anyone ...please send me a personal email. Thanks |
