Was reading the latest EVO and according to people who have seen the car naked, the front lights are "shocking."

What does that mean? I am curious, I know they will be different, perhaps like the vertical version of the Maserati quattroporte lights, but is it good or bad?

Official pics of the car to be revealed next week? Good. Now I am curious.

That is exactly the car that I saw... except that I have a close-up shot of the interior! I get the pics back this afternoon, and most likely will post the interior shot shortly thereafter. After all, we're all just like family, right?!

Wonder how much a car mag would pay for a clean shot of what certainly appeared to be the final version of the new 460GT dash board and gauges?

By the way, the tachometer is really big and right in the center, like in the 575M. The steering wheel has at least 4 F1 style buttons on it, like in the Enzo. The the air outlets are situated almost identical to the Enzo, the way they are in the center and sort of protrude from the top of the dash board.

It makes no sense to keep the pics private. If they want to test their vehicles in complete secrecy and avoid publicized pictures, they should stay off the public roads. As soon as they venture in public, they're fair game. And, as one member put it, these guys aren't new to the game.

SUGGESTION - Copyright the photos, otherwise they'll end up being used in a publication. Or sell them to a publication (Magazine, or Brenda Priddy, or The Car Connection) and let them post the photos.

dont share the pics with anyone else? has that guy ever heard of public domain??
what you should do is sell them to the car mags, then once the check clears, post them here!

Post the pictures already.

It's not like they are going to keep you from getting a enzo.

I use to live in Detroit Michigan. We always kept cameras in the car, because you saw all kinds of new cars being tested. (The best test cars never make it into production. Saw some wild stuff.)

It was not the fault of the driver that he got photographed.

The only reason not to post the photos, is if you hold Ferrari in your mind as a religion (some guys do). If you think of them as a Automobile Manufactor...then post away.

HE did have the door wide open parked on a city street. I get the photos later today. Have to decide whether to post. I'd really like you guys to see it, but agree that I don't want to get the guy in trouble, in spite of the fact that he left himself wide open, quite literally.

The Enzo, as expected, was awesome. But I'll be honest, from inside the car, didn't SOUND much different than a 575M F1. But it sure pulled harder!

Buried in work since my return, but more to follow soon!!

Doody, you are correct from an "intellectual" point of view -- common courtesy says otherwise irrespective of the circumstances.

William, I sent you an email.

eh - not so sure i buy the picture arguments, guys.

the guy was driving the mule on PUBLIC streets. the guy had to have known you were following him. the guy pulled off into a PUBLIC street and stopped. you approached the stopped car on a PUBLIC street. you snapped pictures.

at no point did you request to interact with him or the car. it was just there. any resident of that street or passerby could have snapped said pictures.

he asked that you not share them. so be it. just 'cuz i might ask heidi klum to spend the night with me doesn't make it so (and in that case i'd beg like a blathering idiot!).

i think you should share them. these guys aren't new to this game. if they've got the 460 out and about on the roads, spy pics are gonna start popping all over. in fact, they already have been popping for weeks (someone on 6speedonline posted some there).

don't post them if you don't want to, but i see no real reason to not post them unless you think they can be traced back to you (i assume you didn't give the dude your card!).

doody.

Won't the new car use a detuned version of the the same engine sitting behind the Enzo? Would explain why the car sounded like it did.

Jay- agree with Michael- please keep the photo private.

As much as we'd all like to see it, and even though the car was on public roads (and therefore totally fair game) you'd probally get the poor test driver fired!

And getting fired from a job where you get PAID to drive FERRARIS would suck big time!

Best!
Ben.

What was the Enzo like?

WHAAAAAAT...?!?!? Jay, that's awesome and should definitely NOT be mentioned as a "by-the-way" at the bottom of a thread - it should have it's own thread, entirely...! Congratulations...!

Just got back from my trip. Last week was in Maranello and spotted the new 460 GT test mule pulling out of the gates, so I followed him. After about 5 minutes of driving he pulled into a residential area, so I pulled off as well. He hopped out and opened the passenger door and started working on a laptop. I guess he was collecting data. Anyway, he left the driver door open, and I walked up and snapped a pic of the driver side dash and gauges. I think he thought at first I was one of his guys, since I was in a 360 Spider. Anyway, he saw me take the pic and made me promise not to share it with anyone. He said "private only." I can tell you, the steering wheel and dash layout is very similar to the Enzo. And when he finished up and zoomed away, the engine sounded incredible, thought maybe not loud enough. It sounded like a muted Enzo.

Get my pics developed later this week and will post a few. I also was lucky enough to get a ride in an Enzo on the Autobahn. It was incredible
