I also heard from Ferrari of SF that they are going to open a service facility in the south bay. The words Palo Alto were bantered about, but there was no set location.

Rich,

Very interesting info! That'll definetly make things easier on the F-car community. Of course, I'm far enough north where the drive to LG is equidistant to that of Marin.

I don't see them opening up a new sales center, but another service shop is definetly a needed thing. There are so many (indeps, etc) in the north bay / upper penninsula that a south-bay location would make lots of sense.

There actually will be a new Ferrari service center in the South Bay Area, if my sources are correct. I am not sure if this is going to be an authourised service center but I have heard that several of the best regarded Ferrari specialists in the area are going there for the sole purpose of doing Ferrari service and that it will be set up specifically for Ferrari service. That's all I heard but I am sure that there will be more info on this in the coming months.

Dan-

Since we gave Ferrari the boot this year, FNA has been looking at locations through out the South Bay Area. The talk that I have heard from many @ FNA is that they want to make it a Maz. dealer with a service center for all the SBay Ferrari customers that now have to go north, such as yourself.
FSF was even hiring not to long ago with this in mind, train people up there, and then move them.
I have not heard anythign recently, as ther building they wanted they did not get.

AS well, when we were an F car dealer, we had heard about Wynn's dealership possobilites straight from FNA's mouth so to speak. So, that has been in the works for at least 1.5 years.

Paul/Martin: My friends in Palm Beach who store my car for me are always asking why there isn't a Ferrari dealer over in West Palm, and I told tham that I'd always assumed that Shelton would go crazy at the notion. Having been around since the Cressman-Baumgarten days (the oldest existing dealer in the US?) you'd think they'd have some pull with FNA and be able to protect their turf- West Palm is just too close to Lauderdale . . .

hmmm- that sounds pretty interesting - there a re a few pretty cool pre-owned dealerships out here in lv - like celbrity cars and towbin bentley on sahara-
i wonder how a ferrari dealership would do on the strip- people have no problem dropping six figs on a car here- i live in an apartment complex and we have several 355 owners here

i heard la reve- wynn vegas or whatever its called was supposed to be even more opulent than the bellagio- but i have a hard time believing it

do you know when its supposed to open?- what the theme is going to be?

gotta love the copper colored glass though- i think the location sucks however- why haven;t they knocked down places like the polo towers and the I P - and put in decent casinos

just thinking out loud

Nick,

there were once 5 in the bay area. I whole-heartedly doubt there'll be another one around here.

I heard there was a new Ferrari dealership coming to Redwood City, CA next year. About time there was another N. Cal dealer.

Paul:
Sounds like wishful thinking by a couple sales people to me. While Reeves WILL be a Maserati Dealer in Tampa, I doubt any Reeves management people are suggesting a Ferrari franchise comes as a package.

Braman would be a kick in the pants for Shelton! Too close to Ft. Lauderdale.

Jeff,

But it's all possible thanks to the genius of Milken. W/o him, there would be no Wynn.

Dean.....from my source:
"There isnt anything about Ferrari on Reeves' website yet but the last time I dropped by, a few weeks ago, they told me they would be selling Maserati and Ferrari. This came from people in both Audi and Porsche divisions.
They are building a new showroom for BMW and will be putting the Ferraris in where the BMWs are now. While the construction project is a few months from complete, they made it sound like they were expecting their first deliveries
of Maseratis and Ferraris at any moment."

Dean, I was told this info by someone close to the Reeves dealership. Not mentioning names. I have no reason to doubt the source.

Steve is a smart guy and turned this town around in the 80s everything he has done has been a success as I am sure this will be

You wrote "I just checked with my source again and he says the name of the dealership in Tampa is Reeves Imports. They also sell Porsche, Audi, BMW, VW, Hummer and Subaru. They will be "an official Ferrari dealership"."

Who is your source?

Who ever told you this is wrong. Alberto has been a friend for 32 years and is now happily retired. (He remains a consultant to WWOC)

Steve Wynn has many issues to overcome in his new projects and some people are betting against him.

However, he has a history of overcoming issues and proving others wrong. I would bet on him.

From what I have read, the Ferrari dealership is a definite.

No the old owner of WWOC was Alberto Pedretti. Mr. C was never an owner of WWOC. Alberto has been the sole owner for many year's since he bought out his original partners the Gellis Brothers.

Hey Brucie - Steve Wynn sold the Mirage group, including the Bellagio, Treasure Island and the Golden Nugget, to MGM a long time ago. I'm sure he doesn't care if Siggy or Roy become lunch for their pets
