The cubby (rear glove box) started in mid-year '96 as standard. So some '96's don't have it...others do. |

I stand corrected...yes the manual calls it a cubby compartment... don't know why I thought it was spider only..

My dad's 96 355 spider has it. Was it an option in 96? It really isn't to useful for anything but sunglasses. Thanks

Jeff - That's only on Spiders.
Difficult to use when the top is down, when you really need it, cause the boot covers it.
I'm going to recover my dash in a few months and I know a guy who works on F-Cars and Lambos who is very very good. What I'm going to do, and I don't advocate this to anyone (disclaimer) is replace my shotgun side airbag with an electric glove box. I've seen a car that he did and it looks 100% stock. It is powered by an "extra" dome light switch on the consol. After he does it, I'll post something here with some pix. |

Jeff- I know that the '95's did not have the lockable box. As my car is a '98 GTS and does have it, I assume later spiders do as well. |
